man,bow rope is tied to the stand, if he would have gotten tangled in that i might have got ripped from the tree. could have been bad.

in other news, big boy was in front of the camera last night, 10pm. he is definitely hanging around just not moving during the day. gonna give it my best shot tomorrow. last all day hunt for me with the bow.

Good luck - tough getting the older bucks to show up in daylight sometimes.

I always fear deer are going to come through the second I lower my bow rope. Never had it actually happen like that though. Pisser.

Good luck to everyone out tomorrow for the regular season opener. Judging by the weather forecast it’s tough hunting after noon tomorrow.
Couldn’t connect with the bow. Just couldn’t put myself in front of anything good. Hopefully gun season is better

Nice - I forgot this is the part where I get to look at all the Boone & Crockett deer my friends got this morning. I'll take a quarter back strap please.

If these deer are so smart you can't get them why are they so stupid they keep running into me? In June and August of 2009 two ran into me and Friday at sundown about a two year old doe committed suicide by Jeep. How long does it take them to learn not to run across roads? What a pain in the ass.

got this coyote this morning. watched him come in and leave without a shot, pulled out the screaming rabbit call, couple of soft calls on that and he came right to my tree.

they are not smart in the way that they can apply reason and logic. it's more trying to beat their senses. fool their noses, not get caught by their eyesight and hearing and what ever 6th sense they have that makes them walk away when it seemed they were coming right to you. their instincts are to be wary of potential ambushes from natural predators, cars and roads aren't really that.

That's actually a nice looking coyote. All the ones I see look like scumbags.

3 more coyotes came into my stand today, couple hundred yards from where i shot the one last week. first one was big, big. maybe twice the one i shot. rushed a shot at the 2nd one disappearing into the brush. wasn't a smart play. should have let them go and tryed calling them back.
good news, the big boy was still alive tuesday night. his chance of living goes up quite a bit now. have to do some editing, have a good sequence of a couple of 2 year olds fighting. one has half a rack, doesn't seem like a fair fight but he holds his own.
1 more week of gun and 1 more week of bow left.
@Petrozza , if he gets to be a nuisance let me know. pa ain't too far.
