I have a question for the college football gurus- If the Hogs win this game and Georgia wins the SEC title game, then who the hell plays in the national title game?
I think the guys on ESPN this week (yes ESPN) said that if Arkansas beats LSU this week, LSU and Bama would play for the title, despite Arkansas beating LSU. So you want some serious shit to fuck up the BCS? Root for that. That will lead to some serious changes in the BCS system for sure.
Would be a travesty and I hope it kills this system. It would be a disservice to these Arkansas players
The other day I was confused about who could play Georgia in the SEC title game. Arkansas can only get there by winning today and if Auburn wins the Iron Bowl. If Arkansas wins today and Alabama loses to Georgia in the SEC title game, Alabama would still play for the national title, you think?
Fuck the BCS make a series of playoffs for these kids Division 2 does it why can D1 I dont understand that concept
Yeah, exactly. I would like a playoff system where only conference winners can make the playoffs. If that means a smaller conference team like Western Michigan make the playoffs and the #2 SEC team stays home, then so be it. On the other hand, could I live with an eight-team playoff system featuring conference winners from the top conferences and then two at-large spots? Yeah, I could. It would be a hell of a lot better than the current system. I do not compare NCAA conferences to NFL divisions. Maybe that's just me. I hate it when a conference loser plays in the BCS title game. We did see that the one year when K State won the Big 12 but Oklahoma played in the national title game. I found that to be thoroughly asinine.
Phenomenal return by Mathieu. Tie game. Personally, I believe that LSU should play for the title even if they lose today. They'd still have the best resume of any one loss team, I don't think that they should be penalized just because their loss came late in the season.
Win or lose against UGA, LSU should still play in the championship game. They have beat 3 top 3 teams at the time they played.
Agreed entirely. The only other team with a resume that's even close to LSU is Alabama, and the Tigers beat them. There's no way to keep LSU out of the title game at this point.
