I wonder if these beat writers know that the only real news would be Rex Ryan saying that the Jets won't win anything this year.

The last time the Jets won the SB there was a guarantee involved. What is the point to playing in the NFL if you are not trying to win a SB every year? I have no issue with Rex saying things like this.

not for anything but last season he never actually "guarenteed" the victory. He kept on saying that it was the goal but never came out up front guarenteeing it.

He's obviously pissed of beyond belief and is really determined. Hopefully we can get it done.

 

Yeah, he's trying to win a Super Bowl. Making guarantees doesn't have to be part of the mix, though. I don't recall Mike McCarthy making one this past season.
I'd much prefer Ryan to shut up and actually win

He's earned the right to talk for another offseason. If the Jets went one and done last year then he would have no right to talk, but as long as the Jets keep making it to the final 4 then he can keep talking.

 

What are you writing about here? Anybody can talk. Hue Jackson can talk if he wants and he's 0-0 as a NFL head coach. There is no magical win total that one must have in order to talk. There is no earning here.

He did that last year and everyone decided he was guaranteeing it anyway. He has established his persona and this is who is, the only thing that would bother me at this point is if he didn't say anything at all.
