I don't think the Browns would pass on Barkley.

    Per Schefter:
    Darnold /Browns
    Chubb/Giants
    Rosen /Mayfield/Jets
    Browns/Barkley
    Broncos/Nelson

Neither could JPP anymore... which is what you were probably getting at.

cap room. JPP hasn't lived up to his contract, and they still have vernon on the other side. they have literally no cap room and next year they need to resign ODB and collins both will get huge contracts.

They are moving on from the 4-3 alignment. You will see more 3-4 and nickel with this new Giants regime. JPP does not fit in a 3-4.

Why isn't this guy's nickname M-80? Him blowing up his hand was so Jetsesque, there are no words. I bet he sings Ch Ch Ch Ch Ch Cherry Bomb! in the shower every morning.

hmm..i see the giants trading the 2 to the jets now for some exorbitant bounty and then taking chubb who they would have taken all along after trading jpp.

They aren't taking Chubb because they traded JPP. If they wanted Chubb, they could have kept JPP and taken Chubb. They traded JPP because they want to rebuild, which makes them more likely to take a QB (as opposed to Barkley who could help them win now).

Don't disagree with you. It was also for salary cap relief too. Either to sign Beckham or just to free up space for other players. I think it was a good idea too. He is on the decline. They can get something now than in a year by just cutting him.

My fear is they trade down with Buffalo to take Davenport at 12

That's my fear too and we end up with Allen. I'm really hoping for Rosen though the injuries and concussions scare me.

    Giant smokescreen.....
They just cleared a bunch of cap space to sign the FA O-linemen to protect their new franchise QB ;)

Very well could be. Gettleman loves those Hog Mollies. No matter what happens the Jets need Rosen or Darnold. If we don't get them trading up this early would've been wasteful. Allen I thin is better than Hackeburg but not much in my opinion. The inaccuracy scares me. Mayfield I like but to trade up 3 spots for him and three twos when on draft day we could've moved up for less would be a problem. Hopefully the Giants take Allen or a position player but I were them I'm trading out for a boatload of picks from Buffalo.

I agree.... that's why my one main beef with the trade up wasnt that they did it, but when they did it. I guess it kept the cost down, but not a guarantee that they get "Their Guy"

You do it as soon as you can, because if another QB needy team beats you to it, you'll have no chance at doing it later.
