You guys will be fine in a few years. We had a rough patch and changed Fasshole. It's been such a big change from that era to Tom C era. Both Ernie A and Tom C have a plan which apparently during the fasshole era we lacked.

Wow... his original asking price was $18 million guaranteed.

Great signing by the Giants. The base salary is around 3.5 million so that's reasonable.

As far as the draft goes, I would still go after a young CB. Webster is nice, but Madison and Mc 25 cents are aging. A wide receiver with speed and durability is also necessary.

I'd still go LB to groom with AP and Lavar. I would like a LB, Cromartie, or draft BPA. MY old concern is how Saunders uses the 3 wrs of the Skins.

Im happy the g-men got Arrington. Redskin fans are so f'n annoying, they act like they have the best player at each position. I cant wait to see Brunell/Campbell get trampled by Osi/Strahan/Arrington.

good signing by the G-men, with him and pierce there now the games against the foreskins should really be something now. Am sure Lavar can't wait to take on the skins in dc. He's going to want to kill the qb and or portis just to get back at the FO.

According to PFT: ARRINGTON'S DEAL STINKS

Initially hyped as a seven-year, $49 million package with an $11 million signing bonus, the contract signed by linebacker LaVar Arrington with the New York Giants is, in actuality, a deal that averages $3.7 million per year. If Arrington hits some basic incentives, the deal is worth $5 million annually. To hits the $7 million per year figure, Arrington needs to hit some pretty high performance triggers.

More importantly, the contract pays Arrington a signing bonus of only $5.25 million, less than half the figure that initially was leaked, presumably by his agents. (Maybe they'll now claim that the bonus was changed by the Giants from $11 million to $5.25 million in the final draft of the contract -- and that they failed to notice it because they read contracts roughly as carefully as Fran Foley reads his own bio.)

The practical consequence here is that, if the Giants conclude that they made a mistake, the cap hit will be manageable. Cutting him after June 1, 2007, for example, would result in a $1.05 million cap charge in 2007, and $3.15 million in dead money come 2008.

And the package pales in comparison to the contract signed by linebacker Julian Peterson with the Seahawks. Peterson got $18 million guaranteed as part of a seven-year, $54 million package.

We're also somewhat surprised that the truth on the Arrington deal got out so soon. Surely, Arrington's camp didn't cough up the real numbers. From the Giants' perspective, the typical approach by NFL teams is to let the player pretend he got a great deal -- without saying anything while the ink is still wet (and before the numbers are available via the NFLPA) as to what the player really will get.

    Good bargain for the GMEN.

Ernie and his wig is 2-0. He beat won against Plax last year, and now this year with Arrington situation. He didnt cave and we got him for much less money than peterson signed with Seattle.

so, how come you people dont realize fassel was a not a bad coach?

    fassel got collins
    caghlin got manning

    fassel got fumbling tiki
    caughlin got ball protecting tiki

    fassel got young, retarted defenders
    caughlin got developed dbs

    fassel got strahan and nobody
    caughlin got strahan and osi

Caughlin also got the better half of shockey

ya know, i hate when one coach has to deal with a much much worse team and then gets fired during the development process for a losing record and sets up the new coach with a winning season. Perfect example in NY.

Hopefully our wonder twins are seeing how the Giants negotiate and can implement that themselves when we finally go after big name FA.

Actually all that falls on Ernie as well as JF. Strahan was picked by George Young not Fasshole. Fassel played favorites among the giants and never benched KC or Tiki when they had issues, which meant backup players never got a shot. Coughlin plays fair and wouldn't hesistate to bench a player for bad performance. Also, Coughlin and Ernie, together have really made some good FA signings, and also drafted alot better than the Fassel years. I personally hated JF, and happy that Tom Coughlin is our coach now.
