    RIP

So essentially they fucked up and caught a building on fire for a movie and this guy died trying to put it out? If that's the case I sure hope a considrable chunk of the profits go towards this guys family and firefighter retirement fund

According to the official statement from the producers the fire started from a different part of the building, below where they were working.

That doesn't mean that there isn't a link between the movie and the cause of the fire, of course. Obviously there will be an investigation into what happened.

I don't know and claim ignorance here, but from what I read, the fire doesn't appear to be directly related to the filming? Unless it was an electrical fire from plugging in too much stuff in an old brown stone to film? Anyway, RIP. Sheese, that's damn sad. Probably not a 'Twilight Zone Movie'/John Landis/Dick Morrow/poor kid getting killed by a helicopter type deal, but if there was negligence involved . . . Guess we'll find out. RIP again. Ugh.

I've had film crews in my buildings and they always bring their own power. They park a huge generator on the street and run hundreds of feet of thick heavy duty cables everywhere to all the gear
