Hahhaa... I'm 4 -5 right now, the "best of the worst." Here's my starters so far: QB - Ben Roethlisberger WR -Coles (might be back this week) - picked up Jmac when he went down (that was a mistake) WR -Holmes WR - Randle El (picked up Kevin Walter a few weeks back too) RB -LT RB - Julius Jones TE - Todd Heap (injured for the past few weeks, picked up Kyle Brady, dropped Baker, now I need a TE) K - Elam DEF- New Orleans D - Adrian Wilson - killing me lately. I lost my first three weeks because I played Brees and LT and the Chargers really stunk it up. :chargers:
Its gotten so bad, I just dumped Kurt Warner for Vinny T. Warner vs the Detroit D (#1 in interceptions) or Vinny T vs the Falcons D (near the bottom in sacks and passes defended) with either McCown or Bollinger as the other choices. Vinny to Steve Smith just has to account for at least one TD, and we know Vinny loves his TEs in the red zone, so I'm hoping for around 200yds, 2tds, and maybe only one pick if I'm lucky. <<<---Of course, my boy #11 will be back next week
LOL, yeah Vinny's supposed to be back this week. And yeah GermanJet, I know...what I meant to type and "say" was that Coles will be back...not this week of course, hopefully against Pitt though. :steelers:
Here is my team in my $$$ league as of today...( 8 team) QB: Drew Brees QB: Brett Favre RB: Larry Johnson  RB: Brandon Jacobs RB: Travis Henry RB: Kevin Jones RB: Jesse Chatman WR: Terrell Owens WR: Chad Johnson WR: Joey Galloway WR: Lee Evans WR: Derrick Mason TE: Antonio Gates TE: Jeremy Shockey K: Gostowski DEF: Tennessee I stand at 5-4, and at the moment I have the last spot to make the playoffs....Im thinking with the emergence of Brees, and with Jones and Jacobs healthy, my team should be fine. Thoughts?
Holy crap Hiker, you really live on the waiver wire dont you....46 moves? Someone put a limit on this shit!
I would try and package either Brees or Favre with one of your runningbacks to get an upgrade at running back. Well not necessarily make the trade, but just put them on the block and see what type of offers you get since both Favre and Brees have a VERY high stock right now.
I'd stand pat. That's a very solid team. Gates + your WRs is a nasty receiving corps, especially if you're in a ppr league. KJones and Jacobs is a very serviceable RB duo, especially living in the age of platoons. And Brees is lookin good these days. Although in an 8 team league, I guess your team isn't spectacular but you can't ignore the Gates factor. You should be good to go at this point. If you can package Favre + Jacobs for a top tier RB (LT, AP, Addai, um . . . that's really it).
seems like many guys are going crazy about Steve Smith, you get him for nothing these days. I traded for him in two leagues , now i own him in all my 3 leagues, i hope that workes out well. i hope he doesn?t become my Marvin Harrison
i just can?t do anything right with my WRs. The one i bench is putting up great numbers every single week. this week i benched Roy Williams for Steve Smith and Lee Evans.
I just beat a guy because I had Gary Brackett as one of my IDPs, and he scored on a fumble recovery. I was pissed because I had Dallas Clark and he was declared inactive right before the game and Joseph Addai had an unspectacular game for once this season...I'm glad Brackett bailed me out towards the end.
ehh, Roy Williams either gives you a lot or nothing. Steve Smith should always be in though...even if he has terrible QBs. Smith should've scored a TD against Atlanta, but DeAngelo Hall stripped him near the endzone. I have the same problem with my running backs -- I have so many thanks to an extremely awesome Marc Bulger trade that I made before the season for Adrian Peterson. I have Joseph Addai, Adrian Peterson, Clinton Portis, Travis Henry, and Reggie Bush -- in a 12 team league. I always start Bush and Addai because it's a point per reception league and they get a lot of ball thrown their way. Before last week, Peterson was running well, but he had a tough schedule ahead of him, so I started Portis againt the Jets awful defense, instead of Peterson against the supposedly good San Diego defense...biggest mistake ever. I still managed to win because Joseph Addai and Clinton Portis had very strong games...but still I benched A-Pete when he broke the damn single game rushing record.
Won again, 6 straight  I went 2-0-1 this week, with a tie of 152.50 in one league, what are the friggin odds on that happening?
I have the 3rd highest scoring team in one league, but I'm currently ranked 7 out of 14. Philip Rivers has single handedly destroyed that team. Got me minus-4 points this week. I should just start Jason Campbell... Making a killing in my other league though, so I guess it evens out.
