Former NFL cornerback Dimitri Patterson injured two police officers during a failed escape from a Miami courtroom on Tuesday, according to officials. After a family court judge in Miami-Dade ordered Patterson placed under custody, the 34-year-old Miami native took off for the exit, tackling a female officer who was guarding the courtroom doors, authorities told the Daily News. The officer hit her head and was taken to a hospital where she was later released. Patterson injured a second officer who also went to the hospital with a minor wrist injury, police said. Patterson was detained Tuesday evening and is expected to face charges of battery on a law enforcement officer.
