https://www.newyorkjets.com/news/adam-gase-completes-his-jets-coaching-staff The highlights here are Jim Bob Cooter at RB coach and Pollock at OL, which we knew. Interesting to have JBC as a positional coach, but the Lions had also been the worst ground team hands down during his tenure. But this is all officially confirmed, so no one here has to freak out.
I don't mean to profile but whenever I hear Jim Bob Cooter's name I picture a dented early 80's Chevy pickup parked outside the edge of the pheasant hunting fields.
Dennard Wilson returning as DB coach, and also getting a promotion. Odd, but this is a totally new defensive slate so I’m willing to see how it works out.
wow what a fall from grace for Jim Bob Cooter. Revived Matthew Stafford, had potential HCing interviews, now he's a RB coach.
Everyone cried and cried about the Adam Gase hiring, but he has put together a very impressive staff, top to bottom. I mean we got multiple guys that have been coordinators serving as position coaches. Gregg Williams and Joe Vitt have also been NFL head coaches, on top of Gase. So 3 guys with head coaching experience on that sideline. - talk about a breath of fresh air
He's considered one of the best DB coaches in football. I'm shocked he's not following Bowles or seeking some sort of promotion elsewhere. He didn't do alot to help the communication on back end under Bowles...he wont last here long under Williams/Gase if that doesnt improve.
I care more about the talent on the field then guys that speak to players during practice. If we dont get the right guys in here in free agency then it wont matter we will go 3-13 with the current roster we have and our coaching staff
Tweets like these are so pathetic ... pretty sure if this was still a big deal, Vitt wouldn't have accepted a position with the team.
The offensive staff is pretty meh minus JBC and we have no idea how he will be as a positional coach. He wasn’t that good in Detroit. Loggains, as most people are aware, has never been successful as a coach in the NFL. Jefferson ran hot and cold in Miami. I do like the Pollack signing quite a bit though. That could help solve a lot of issue.
Yes, it is, that's a good thing Too bad some of it was posted prematurely. Who's the Bridge Coach allowing the Offense to communicate with the Defense?
Looking at the defensive staff, it looks like almost all Gase's guys, along with retaining a Jets leftover. I hope Williams was onboard with these hires..
