Love what I am seeing from this team and I maintain what I did before summer camp opened, this is a young and growing football team headed in the right direction. The first two games even provided me with glimpses of a team with some talent and potential, albeit, they needed to continue to grow and re-work some things, which they did against Miami yesterday. Josh McCown has been the steady veteran hand they needed and the offense is beginning to gel. Tanking my ass, it doesn't work that way, at least with the players and coaches inside the locker room. If Mike McCag set about to have this team finish with one of the worst records in the NFL, he, and many other Jets fans are going to be very disappointed. I said before the season I saw 6-wins out of this team and I'm staying with that projection, in fact, they might even exceed that by a game or two. This has been a fun team to watch thus far and I'm looking forward to seeing them develop throughout the season.
I agree with you 100% and the Jets deserved the victory today. I was surprised at how well McCown played and as they say, a good step in the right direction. Even if the team has a losing record, what you want to see his effort and the team improving. As to tanking, I suggest you study the 76ers basketball team before saying that. Today was a good day to be a Jets fan and enjoy the thrill of victory.
Be honest, if our D# will continue playing like they did vs Dolphins, we can easily win the games against JAX and CLE, plus will play MIA and BUF too + some unexpected wins and we can close the season with 5-6 wins, so here we go top10 pick and bye top QB prospects. So, this win agains MIA could mean the end of the tanking.
I hope we win 7-9 games this year so we can forget any idea of getting a FQB and extend McCown another 3 years. It would be a win/win for Macc since he wouldn't be under any pressure to deliver a FQB drafting in the middle 1st rd and it buys time for Hacc to become the FQB Macc dreams of. Hell, Macc could then go BPA-D one more time and besides, I don't trust his vision when it comes to Qb's anyway. Maybe if we lose McCown, we can go sign another $6mil JAG Mentor. Either way, we're covered when it comes to non-elite QB's. We're the Jets and its what we do..
Winning with a 38 yr old stiff at QB is meaningless, it would mean alot more if Petty won that game which he could have
I starting to think NOTHING will help us in the long run Matt... BTW, I'm gonna PM Petro today about that sarcasm emoji too.
Probably, we will win enough games to pick around top10 this year and being far from the change picking Darnold or Rosen. It's better not picking QB with our 1st round if this is the case. Everyone is saying that Macc is a talent evaluator, but his drafts so far...phew. However, let's wait for MIA and CLE games; we will know more about where we will pick after that games.
Smdh. Some people will just never get it. If we're only going to win 1 game this year I'm glad it was the dolfags.
I'm not worried yet. The offense has been playing above their ability and it will only be a matter of time before the Jets get back to playing capable teams who will expose them. Great win though. F*ck the Fins.
We play them twice..Two wins again st the Dolphins is worth forfeiting the chance for a FQB? I dont think it is but thats me..
