Ok a new guy enters the QB fray, thanks to me listening to Kiper and for as much as SIX QB's could be considered for 1st round consideration. School: Missouri Position: Quarterback Class: Junior Height: 6-3 Weight: 205 lbs Projected Draft Round: 2-5 Scouting Report: A gifted vertical passer, Lock has been one of the most productive QB’s in college football, and put together perhaps the best 5 game span of any passer. The trick in Lock’s evaluation, as with many QB’s in college systems, is separating the scheme from the player. He is asked to throw more deep balls than any QB in the country which naturally hurts his completion percentage, but helps other stats. If he comes out in the 2018 NFL draft, the draft process will be extremely important to his draft stock. ---Lock likely in the mold of a Bryce Petty, a gun for an arm, very good athletic ability...lacks accuracy (hasn't thrown over 60% in his career) so he has accuracy issues. http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/new...c-passing-td-record/600t670sox7k1kcrd0nz9j31m
Being from Missouri I do like Lock, 2nd or 3rd round though. He's going to need a season if he comes out this year. Odds are he'll stay in college to try to improve to first round grade possibly. He's a gunslinger with a big time arm. But needs some seasoning. Even if we get a QB in the first, slim chance, I'd still take Lock if he was still on the board in the third. Insurance if the 1st round pick is a bust.....and the Jets being the Jets.....well....
