I never thought I would say this but....Sign Dez Bryant. You run more of a risk starting your rookie Qb with this WR corps than you did with Dez "tainting the locker room." I will take my chances, Darnold needs a target, you can't throw him under the bus with this type of WR corps, you have to sign Dez, it's no longer an option.
I actually agree its doing a disservice to your qb to not try to help him out. If he acts up or confronts Sam just cut him immediately
Dez has been known to not have a very large route tree, mostly slants and deep ins and the go route. He's still rather green as a WR and I think that's part of the reason why he hasn't been signed. Also you can't just plug and play , these things take 2-3 weeks to get a WR up to speed. Matthews may know 50% of the Playbook if that. It's going to be more of Kearse, Peak, and Roberts at WR with a ton of 2-3 TE looks. Herndon needs to continue to improve and possibly be the emerging threat he's looking to become. Pryor tweeted out he's ready to go but I doubt he's actually ready to play or else he would have been back with the Jets. He knows the offense already. Next week you may see Pryor return with Kearse and Matthews and hopefully a healthy Robbie.
I want to ‘like’ this post for many reasons. But I don’t want to karmically even endorse the idea of McCown at WR. Please understand
Seems dumb, cheap, disloyal to waive a guy injured for two or three weeks. Either there’s more to that. Or it’s dumb, cheap, and disloyal.
Might as well throw some coin at Le'veon Bell. The Bell Cow can play as a receiver as well. Imagine if someone told you in February that we would have Sam Darnold has our starting QB and Le'veon Bell has our RB by week 9 of this season.
It was mostly due to injuries, lot of guys are hurt but not hurt enough to go on IR. I do expect Pryor to come back next week.
When everyone else on the roster sits out with minor afflictions I guess you could expect Robby Anderson to sit out as well
Dez had a history of fighting with and publicly calling out his QB. Not exactly what you want for a young rookie QB.
Macc's job is to do just enough to appear competitive to keep the fans happy, and just not-enough to preserve a good draft to round out the team in 2019 (to keep the fans happy).
Who knows, first he couldn't reach him, then he was over throwing him, but maybe now it's just right. Lol
Just curious. Has there ever been another GM that's 'stockpiled' four top ten first round picks in his first five drafts (which of course means he's done a _____ job of team building) AND had the media ballwashing him by claiming the team is finally doing things the 'right way'?
A ten year rebuild in a win now league. Genius. By the time this GM is ready to 'go for it' Leonard Williams, Jamal Adams, Darron Lee will come looking for their mega bucks second contract and there ain't a top three player at his position in the bunch.
