The Los Angeles Rams are parting ways with defensive end Robert Quinn. The Rams have agreed to trade Quinn to the Miami Dolphins, a source informed of the situation told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The trade cannot become official until the NFL new league year begins March 14.
If there's one thing the Jets have proven, is that you can't win shit in this league with just a great defensive line. Way to follow our lead Miami
I wonder why Rams let him go. I believe he had some injury concerns as far as I remember. Good player if he can stay healthy.
When they cut Suh with a June 1st designation they will have enough to sign their draft picks, just barely,
What about Quinn's $11.5 million ? That is not included in their cap until the trade becomes official. My math could be wrong but I think that leaves them still $ 2.1 million OTC.
Is anyone else wondering what the hell is going on with the Rams? They've traded Ogletree and Quinn on the same day... Seems like a radical reshaping of a pretty effective defensive unit.
No, you are right, my bad. It might be $1M instead of the $2.1M since Quinn is due a $1.1M roster bonus before the trade goes through but I am done trying to calculate cap space since I keep missing things.
It's going to be interesting if they can't trade Landry this week. I believe he already signed his tag , so teams knowing the dolphins situation can low ball them now.
Neither one was a good fit scheme wise and both moves free up much needed cap space. Rams have several big contracts coming due next season and may still be trying to work out a deal with Johnson.
https://operations.nfl.com/football-ops/league-governance/2018-important-nfl-dates/ You're absolutely correct. I was operating with yesterday's Rams prospectus (when they were going to move on from Johnson). Things are moving crazy fast!
Seems player trades are becoming much more common than in past ye I was almost correct. Looks like the Rams will let Johnson walk, they are trading a 5th round pick for Talib.
It's changing so fast, it's not even worth keeping up with at this point. Rams fans are probably going nuts though. Good for them!
