I'm sure Brandon Marshall would be thrilled with this move haha

This kind of stuff is all fantasy anyway, There is no conceivable way to fit him under the cap. Plus, he has been such an overrated player for so long.

Cutler is absolute trash. Barley an upgrade over Geno and just as interception prone.

Cutler's contract is not terrible as far as starting QBs go. If we traded for him, his cap numbers would be 2016: $16mil, 2017: $15mil, 2018: $16mil. It's only guaranteed through next year.

He's better than what we have. He's a legit starting QB. Yes, he's mistake prone, but he can make any throw. I'm indifferent to it. If he can be had for next to nothing, which he likely can, I'd take a chance with only 2016 guaranteed.

Sure there is, until you don't want there to be one. Who are we shifting around to get him in here?

It's funny everyone hates Jay Cutler but this year he has basically identical stats to Fitzpatrick who I've been told is a top three QB by some idiot citing total QBR.

Cutler and Marshall have a few therapy sessions with Bowles and were good to go.

If Cutler never threw the rock enuf to BM he will get plenty of targets here

What do we give up for Cutler?

    Sorry guys tomorrow never knows

Get your SB now worry about next year next year

    47 years and counting

I used to really like Cutler. Wanted the Jets to go after him hard in 2009. But nowadays he sucks. The fact that he's even considered a decent QB shows you how bad the QB situation is for most teams in the league right now.

People weren't real thrilled with the Farve deal either as I recall but, until he got hurt this Jets team was a juggernaut. Food for thought. If the Bears pick up most of the contract, Marshall will just have to deal with Cutler but no way do you give Marshall veto power on this.

Yes. I don't understand the hate for him. He's a top 15 Qb who is better than Fitzpatrick and much better than Smith. Much of the substantive comments on him as opposed to just saying "NO!" are about his contract. But as you say that is the Bears' deal, so let them pick up a big chunk of his contract and then perhaps do a trade for him. As you suggest the Jets would be a much better team.

This will likely come up again in the off season. There was some talk Chicago might have moved him last off season, but they kept him. Their problem is they have a weak roster and are in need of a rebuild. Having a vet Qb like Cutler means he's going to waste there. I am sure he'd like to at least consider playing for the Jets. I doubt anything happens, but let's see...
