This kid from Temple is an absolute stud and IMO the best OL in the draft. Don't be surprised if you hear his name in the top 10! You gotta think Bowles knows all about him too.. some may think he's a reach at #6 but if we took him id be loving life because the kid can flat out play anywhere on the line but probably an all pro guard.
He will not be the BPA, and the Jets have no glaring need at OG. He will NOT be the Jets pick at #6. Put down the bottle or the bong.
I'm a big fan of Temple players....Klecko is one of my all time favs - few are exceptions to the rule and I would chance taking a stud DL from them, but OL?? Nah...I'll pass.
I think you need to look at some Dion Dawkins tape. Kid is a stud. Was a contender for the Outland trophy last year
I know u don't watch much college so don't make to many assumptions! He played most of his collegiate career at OT and can also play center. Mangold, Breno and possibly Carp are done if not close to done with the Jets. Dawkins by far is the best OL in the draft and that's a glaring hole. The one thing u might be right about is that Mac goes BPA and at 6 he won't be the BPA on most draft boards. Maybe the Temple connection might boost him a bit on their board though
I think he's got a round 2 grade on most boards. I think he goes either rrally late round 1 or early round 2. We may have a shot in the second round but I wouldn't bet on it.
I don't care how good he is, imo NO OG is worth the #6 pick in the draft, and there's no way he would be the BPA.
You don't know any such thing. I normally watch A LOT of college football. I just didn't have time this fall to watch much. IMO NO OG is worthy of being taken in the top 10 of the draft. The highest I would ever consider taking an OG or a C would be in the 25-32 range of the 1st round, and only then, if I was set at every other position on the team and had a glaring need at OG or C. Carpenter is not close to done. That's flat out wrong. He's only 27. Winters is still improving. His position could be upgraded, but it's NOT a glaring need. LT is a glaring need. RT could use some competition for Shell, but it's not a glaring need either unless Shell screws the pooch. Even if it was a glaring need, the #6 pick is too high to take a RT.
Oh, I don't want him in the first. Also, I think there's a good chance he could stick at a tackle spot. He would just be a much better guard IMO.
