Source: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...-acquire-dexter-mcdougle-trade-brooks-to-jets Traded for Terrence Brooks..... Never seem to get draft picks do we, only guys that will be cut the next year.
Ladies and gentleman, your Idzik '14! ̶P̶r̶y̶o̶r̶ (we could've had Derek Carr) ̶A̶m̶a̶r̶o̶ (Butterfingers Jace) ̶M̶c̶D̶o̶u̶g̶l̶e̶ (remember the Dexter McDougle award?) ̶S̶a̶u̶n̶d̶e̶r̶s̶ (fumbles punt, gets cut) ̶E̶v̶a̶n̶s̶ (lasted longer than Saunders) Dozier (only a matter of time now) ̶G̶e̶o̶r̶g̶e̶ (who?) ̶D̶i̶x̶o̶n̶ (see George) Enunwa (best player, naturally injured) ̶E̶n̶e̶m̶k̶p̶a̶l̶i̶ (Jets 2015 MVP) ̶B̶o̶y̶d̶ (LOL Rex) ̶R̶e̶i̶l̶l̶y̶ (Colin Jost of draft picks)
So with a history like this recent example, even if the Jets did trade for a DP they'd find a way to fck it up.
Too bad. McDoogle was appearing to getting in shape and finally putting the injury bug behind him and he looked good this preseason until he took a step back last night. .
That's too bad. I was curious to see if he could put it together and contribute this year after the promise he'd shown in the off-season and preseason games. I remember liking Brooks coming out of the draft, but sounds like he's been a journeyman.
This guy was a (sub 4.4) burner out of FSU who blew out his ACL. Ravens went the FA route after that and he was eventually released.
This was a longtime coming, good move by Jets get rid of him while they can possibly get something in return. Trade away a player who is often injured for another, seems like a good plan, very Jets like
Linemen that are worth a damn are not easy to get. You're not getting even a project lineman for Dex McDougle. Our best chance will be on cut day.
Dex is a pretty good friend of mine and he told me this morning that the Eagles have been calling the Jets about him for the past 2 weeks promising to give him more playing time if he was traded and he felt it was the right move for him. Jets asked him if he would be okay with the trade before they let him go. If you are wondering we play a lot of Fifa and Halo together and have hung out a few times in NYC.
So we keep this scrub on the payroll for 3 years, while never playing a game (very few), first time he looks promising we trade him? Perfect.
Why in the fuck would we do that? Skrine sucks, and no other CB on the roster can play the slot. McDougle had been playing better than most of our other CBs. Further, if we're gonna trade him, why in the hell would we trade for an effing safety rather than an OL or at least a quality PR/KR that can catch and hold onto the ball? Fuck Mac. I'm done with that SOB. His ass better get fired the second this season ends. EDIT: OK, I didn't realize that Rontez Miles was still out with the eye laceration, so that makes a little more sense, but can't imagine that Miles would be out that long. Are Ronald Martin and and Shamarko Thomas that bad? That still leaves us with no backup slot CB. Brooks does sound fairly decent however with an interception and 4 forced fumbles just playing part time.
