You gotta give the guy one full healthy season to see what he's got. That probably won't be until Year 3. He will have to earn a roster spot, if not then it's Adios Devin.

Speaking of scrubs, are McDougle and Milliner still on the roster? Now that's some dead weight right there.

Devin Smith is no better than the other Smith or the last WR (Hill) we drafted in the 2nd round. He will be gone at the end of his rookie contract. The 2nd round has not been great for us in the past.

I've said it before. Devin Smith needs size and technique to be a viable WR. Last year, I can't count how many times he was simply outmuscled either off the ball or off the play entirely by more physically mature DB's and S. There's nothing wrong with Devin Smith that 20lbs of muscle and a good Wr coach can't cure. Give the kid more time. Its not like we're SB bound in 2016 so why not continue to build and retool to make a statement in 2017.

And it's likely that he's not going to be fully ready until 2017 in any event.

He'll probably start on the 6 week IR, will have missed all TC and all that game time so we're probably not seeing him in 2016 if at all.

Maybe in 2 years when Marshall is gone (?) Smith will be a factor.

He needs to get much bigger and stronger while maintaining his speed.

smith is might end u being a good player for another team. he will probably be a victim of circumstance here. injury plagued rookie season that will carry over into his 2nd yearis a tough proposition. mike has to plan the wr corp going forward without him in the plans.

100%. He has to plan like we'll never get anything out of Smith.

If he's healthy enough to lift, he should be in the weight room. Being on the bench waving a towel cheerleading isn't gonna be good enough. Its his career and I hope he realizes he's at a crossroads. His career can go either way depending on what he's willing to do to save it.

Btw, I saw Jaylon Smith being interviewed at NDs pro day and he is already leg pressing 600 lbs and squatting 400 lbs.

I hope Smith is as dedicated.

They just need to give him some good steroids and everything will work itself out.

So if 2016 is not the year who will be our QB in 2017 to make that the year?

I could evaluate him if he didn't get hurt every time he fell on the ground. Dude is tissue paper soft. got hurt in minicamp, training camp, and the season.. okay maybe soft is the wrong word... how about fragile?

He had me sick vs Houston and Buffalo...

I just see a dude that's not much faster than everyone else on the nfl level.. plus a little bit of fitz's lack of arm strength.. It just didn't mix well. I was at the eagles game.. he got no separation from anyone and didn't make sany noticeable efforts to get up and after the fly ball..verdict is still out though.. he has time to turn it around... but does he have enough durability?

GOD can we draft a good second rounder for once please???!

Ok, we need to stop dumping on Fitz's arm when it comes to Devin Smith.

All we heard for months was "Fitz can't reach him, Fitz can't play to his strengths, Fitz doesn't have the arm to take advantage of Smith's game".

What happened the one time Smith broke free, was wide open 40 yards downfield and Fitz threw him a perfect bomb?

Lol.. i know.. that's why Smith is on my shit-list.. the dude is all around questionable.. but for the most part fitz can't throw down field really.. you know that. Remember that nasty looking wobbly bomb he threw to Marshall in London? That 45-50 yard pass was with all his might lol..

Yup Fitz doesn't have a strong arm. But I don't ever want to hear shit about him not being able to take advantage of Smith's "strength" when the dude couldn't hold onto the perfect bomb.
