    This is fair.

No way Cleveland doesn't take him tho.

Forget Watson. How about OJ Howard?

While I am for building our Offense big time I am sticking with my first assumption and try to get Darnold as soon as he declares

Plus I am wary of Clemson QBs after that Nat Championship glow......Hmmm remember Taj Boyd ???? Idzik liked that one yipess

So stick with the plan and build that OL

In another year move up for Darnold who is a more prototype QB....he is more worth mortgaging the future

    jmho

Torn on Watson. Love his poise and maturity. But probably going to take several years to develop as a NFL QB. Despite some glowing reports. Is he what we need right now? I think with some solid Veteran QBs available during off season, you by pass him even if Watson is available. We have to many big holes to fill.

This. Pick up a veteran stopgap. Fill in other holes.
QB class is looking stronger for 2018 draft. Darnold looks special.

The draft isn't about what the team needs right now.
If watson is there you run to the podium and don't look back

He doesn't have the talent of Mariota though. He is a lesser version of Mariota

I would pass on Watson if Robinson is on the board, he did a very good job yesterday against a very stout Clemson defense.

Oline LT is a must if any QB is to survive being behind jets oline.

I agree. Sign a RT in FA and target a LT in round 1 maybe picking up a McCaffrey in round 2 (if available) to bolster the O while adding depth the rest of the draft. Focus on QB next draft after seeing Hack sink or swim next season.

The next great Cleveland Browns passer...

...unless the Jets trade the next 3 years of day 1 and 2 picks to move up.

    Which would be hilarious.

Great game by Watson. He's accomplished the impressive feat of going from underrated to overrated in one night.

People are overreacting to last night's National Championship.
Watson will not even be the first QB taken let alone the overall #1.

I was only able to catch the first QTR and the last QTR, but was he as good as advertised? The freshman edge rusher Clelin Ferrell was giving him fits in the first QTR, but maybe he warmed up and got much better as the game progressed

I thought he was, I don't know what others here thought about him but there is no way any LT is going to be perfect against elite pass rushers at any level, I though his run and pass blocking were fine.

He will be ready to play day one from what I saw and in my opinion he will only get better, barring any injuries he will be a good LT.

I know we will have to wait till the combines and all the interviews are done, but I would not be upset if the jets select him at 6.

I'm not the prisoner of the moment type. The fact is Deshaun Watson has not one, but two epic performances on college football's biggest stage against Alabama D's, which are perennially loaded with future NFL draft picks. Watson certainly passes the eye test for me.

Mock drafts appear to show that the jets have the chance at 6 to draft the best offensive lineman out there, if that possibility exists at 6 they have to do it, Watson looked good last night but his receivers really made some big time catches and kept the ball from hitting the ground on the way down.
The little receiver going over the middle all night was a big help to him last night.
Get a vet for QB this year while seeing if either one of these guys have a chance at someday being a QB, if not go after a young one next year if the vet ( Hopefully Taylor) does not work out.
First three picks this year go offensive lineman, look how it works for Dallas with a stud offensive line.

Garret and Watson will be off the board before we pick.

Jonathan Allen looks like the real deal. I think I would break my TV if we drafted another DE but do you guys think Allen could play NT? If he drops to 6 he is probably BAP.

Mike Williams could also be hard to pass up if he falls to us. Alabama had no answer for him despite multiple first rounders on defense.

Did you watch last year's National Championship?

Not saying the kid's the perfect prospect, but he's shown that he can step up on the biggest stage vs the best competition....... not to mention take an ass kicking.

No doubt his receivers made plays, but they made plays on balls that only they could make plays on. good qbs know how to use their receivers and watson did that perfectly. watson at 6 is mych better than robinson at 6. and it ain't close
