Wow, news is so damn bad. Don't people even edit their work anymore? Or is there anyone left who can call themselves an editor? It's William, not Williams. I know I'm the Edit Queen, but that's more brain than damn lazy. https://247sports.com/college/tenne...body-brother-is-person-of-interest-119377518/
Look, the people writing this stuff are sportswriters, gossip reporters and would-be Bob Woodwards. Be careful about believing all the stuff in these stories. What does "person of interest" mean? What do you want it to mean? It's that broad a term. It can be someone believed to have relevant information or it can be the guy the police think did it. Even if the police think a particular person committed the crime, they don't like the term "suspect." They'd prefer to let the suspect think they're not onto him and that he can talk his way out of the mess. The prisons are full of guys who thought they could talk their way out of trouble."Suspect" has too much of a negative connotation, whereas "person of interest" can sound almost neutral. Ah, let the games begin.
The person of interest is now in handcuffs, per PFT. The charge is agg. manslaughter means the police alleged this guy recklessly caused death under circumstances manifesting extreme difference to human life. They do not claim that it was an intentional killing, which would be murder. All this means that it will be very interesting to see what the underlying circumstances were. Unless there's a sealing order in place, the media should be able to get the probable-cause affidavit, which should give an overview of what the police claim this guy did. Since this guy is in New York, Bergen County will have to begin extradition proceedings to bring him back to New Jersey. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...brother-charged-with-aggravated-manslaughter/
^Yeah, just heard on the news. What is the difference between involuntary manslaughter and aggravated manslaughter? My understanding is that neither involve intent/pre-meditation, but no clue what the distinction is?
It's a pretty arcane distinction. Aggravated manslaughter requires reckless conduct so extreme that it shows extreme indifference to the value of human life. Manslaughter requires simple recklessness. It's all a matter of degree. Aggravated manslaughter has a greater penal exposure than manslaughter. New Jersey doesn't recognize a distinction between voluntary and involuntary manslaughter. See, I sure cleared that up for you, didn't I? LOL.
Not the body clean up but I did a remodel in Washington Heights in the 80's where the renter was a drug dealer who got blown away. Those clean up guys don't get everything, we first tried to scrape all the bits of skull and brain off the wall but it was so embedded, we ended up having to tear out the whole wall. Bright side, I found his money stash.
Washington Heights That was really bad back then in some spots. I'm familiar with that area. Nice score tho
If this was an episode of CSI we'd find out with about six minutes remaining that Janoris Jenkins got tired of his brother and his friend soaking off him and hired somebody else to off the friend and set his brother up to take the fall.
