This regime has been tight lipped so I will take that with a grain of salt.

Okay I see it on the website. Referring to Jeremiah's mock. I think the extended dinner they had with him, and the reports of it, is the source of all this. But who knows?

Those aren't good videos since they only show a handful of plays. Use these instead:

    Darnold:

    Mayfield:

It’s not just him... if u click on the link it’s 5 of 8 analysts taking him.. plus it’s the Jets website putting up the picture!

It’s gotta be a smokescreen or they are fools for showing their hand

Ya but cmon how does their website have a picture of mayfield on there.. it just seems odd.

I think the pick is either Allen or most likely Rosen

The Jets are not taking an inaccurate risk like Allen. That's absurd. They will never do that after the Hackenberg fiasco. They take Allen and the fans will burn down the draft party

Mayfield made some brilliant sideline throws vs Ohio State that were dropped.

Let them burn it down. Allen is the best player in the draft. Just because he comes from a small school don’t count him out. Jeremy Bates thrived with a similar arm talent in Jay Cutler and made him a pro bowler. Allen will transition well to a west coast system the same way Carson Wentz did coming from the same coaches to Doug Peterson’s west coast offence.

Our new FQB is Allen or Rosen. This smokescreen with Mayfield is a little too obvious with them plastering a picture of him on the official website when they could have simply put the NFL Draft logo up.

There's no smokescreen. And they're not going to make a stupid mistake drafting somebody who will complete MAYBE 53% of his NFL passes like Allen. It could be Rosen but I wouldn't count on it. At this point you'd figure the Jets know who the Browns are taking, who the Giants are taking, and who they're taking. This is not a smokescreen. It's a teaser

Allen may not even be ready to play in the league this year or maybe even for two years with his hideous accuracy. Mac and Bowles don't have two years to slowly develop a QB. Much less one who is a horrible fit for the offense Bates will install

I disagree Allen is the perfect fit for Jeremy Bates offence. It’s close to Doug Peterson’s offence that Wentz thrived in. Bates made pouty face Jay Cutler a pro bowl player and Cutler has similar arm talent as Allen

Mayfield I feel would be the absolute worst fit out of the top 4 QBs in a west coast offence

No "offensive line " help there ...scrambles and makes a play

TBH I don't think Sam or JR can do that as well..

    Here's how I would pick:

    Darnold vs. Rosen = ROSEN
    Darnold vs. Mayfield= MAYFIELD
    Darnold vs. Allen= BARKLEY
Rosen vs. Mayfield= MAYFIELD (toss up)
    Rosen vs. Allen= ROSEN
    Mayfield vs. Allen= MAYFIELD

Seriously, I'd take Darnold over Allen, but he wouldn't see the field for 2 years, unless he shocked me with how quickly he fixed his throwing motion, decision making, and problem with holding the ball too low in the pocket.

Mayfield is only 23, not 24, and he just turned 23.

Still you're correct with the major point...experience counts, and few, if any, QBs with that little experience have succeeded in the NFL.

He's 23 and Darnold is only 20 but yet Darnold is more mature.

This is not any sort of earth shattering throw but it just shows the great touch and accuracy that he maintains on the ball while being pursued by a quick defender.

So? People mature at different rates. Darnold is nowhere as accurate, good at decision making, or in leadership. Maturity is an easier fix than a flawed throwing motion or a habit of holding the ball too low, or turning the ball over.

Darnold also admitted to having confidence issues in 2017. You have to wonder if he's too much of a laid back California kid. You can't have confidence issues and be a QB with the Jets. Not gonna work

Bakers arm looks a lot more powerful vs Darnold. He was firing missles. How people can honestly watch his tape and say, yeah he’s no good is beyond me. He faced serious pressure almost all game long and made play after play. No wonder why Urban Meyer things he’s the best qb Ohio State has ever faced... kid is unreal. Hopefully the Jets don’t screw this up. This is a no brainer or at least will appear like it should have been a few years from now.
