“Adam”. I thought he would have stuck with the respectful “Coach Gase” and not go first name.

Open question to the entire board ... can anyone show me an article (or even just a quote) where a new coach was hired anywhere (in any sport, by any team, at any time) and a player currently on the team said, "That guy sucks. Bad hire. I don't want to work with him."?

Not comparing him to Belli but Belli is an all-in, do your job, my way or the highway type of coach and even though he's an asshole has done pretty well with that attitude.

Gase is being called a Type A personality which the polar opposite of Bowles.

    Let's see what happens.

Not gonna lie, I hated the hire yesterday, but today after thinking about it and calming down I am warming to the hire. If they get Willams as D Coordinator I will be pretty happy with what's taken place with the coaching staff...

You can hate or like Gase all you want but the very statement " he tailors schemes to the players strength" is sweet music to my ears. In my opinion that is the trait of a good coach, and exactly what was desperately needed the last three years.

I don’t want him back on the roster as a player. Time to move on. It’s darnolds time.

Absolutely. I’m not partaking in the jet fan syndrome of jumping off a bridge everything something happens. I’m somewhat optimistic to be honest.

I think it only took Larry Johnson a few games to start working over Todd Haley on twitter when he was a rookie head coach.

Gase should be well versed on darnolds game tape by now.

It should be fun to have a HC at last that wants to focus on our QB.

    Lets hope they both blossom.

Id like an older D.C to come in, maybe give a different vibe to gase and maybe have a balanced coaching team.

Agree completely. No second guessing who the QB is anymore

Which is why I’ve been so surprised by the boards reaction to him since his name has come up during the process.

I wonder if the reaction would be completely different if he came from any other team than the Dolphins.

I don't think it's primarily that Gase coached the Dolphins. If someone like Dorsey was our GM and he hired Gase, the feedback would be much more positive. But considering CJ and Mac were behind it, we aren't giving them the benefit of the doubt.

It doesn't exist, so no one can show you.

If I'm Sam, I don't bother listening to that dweeb Dowell Loggains, assuming Gase brings him along.

Yet Dorsey has a relationship with McCarthy and didn't hire him and the slobber fest for McCarthy is palpable.

Nope--has nothing to do with the Fins.

If'n he got fired from any other team because he was an asshole who alienated players I'd feel the same.

I don't now, Cman - I think you missed the point of his post. Luke thought of Obi-Wan and Yoda as masters, so he called them "Master Obi-Wan" and "Master Yoda", so if Darnold thought Bates was a master he would call him ...

Or they just say nothing at all. Which happens often.

If Darnold didn't like him as much as he says he does, he could have easily said a simple "I'm excited for the opportunity and ready to work" and be done with it. But he went on a decently long review of Gase.
