Jets have let go LaMont Jordan and Jason Ferguson last year, and are due compensatory draft pick this year (or that was what I heard long time ago.)

Does anyone know which round picks they are going to be awarded?

(One of the speculation at that time was both were good for 3rd rounders...)

They'll announce what picks we get sometime in mid-late March. We could definitely get a 3rd and 4th.

    Prediction for Compensation picks

Lamont Jordan- 4th round pick (over 1000 yards rushing, bunch of receptions and yards and scored a good amount of TD's.)
Kareem Mclenzie-4th rounder (blocked for Tiki Barber and one of the highest scoring teams in the league.)
    Jason Ferguson- 7th round pick

Actually, how they perform doesn't play into the compensation pick from what I heard.

The size of the contract they get determines it.

    From www.theredzone.org:

COMPENSATORY DRAFT PICKS: Compensation awarded by the league to teams who lost more UFAs than they signed. Compensation is in the form of extra draft picks added to the end of rounds three through seven. The quantity of picks is equivalent to the difference of UFAs signed to UFAs lost. For example, if a team loses 4 UFAs and signs 1 UFA, they will receive three Compensatory Selections. The value of the picks is determined by the difference of the contracts signed by the players lost and those acquired. The highest possible compensatory pick is the 31st of the third round (91st overall). If a team has signed an equal number or more UFAs than it lost, no "Compensatory Picks" are awarded.

We did sign Legree and Gardner among others, so we may not get as many as everyone thinks.

But.... this is where the teams that overpaid for guys like McKenzie, Jordan and Ferguson should help a lot. We didn't sign any real expensive FA's..... we could get two thrid round picks here, and a fourth.

    I wouldn't count on that.

However, we should get some picks.. My guess? A 4th, 5th and 7th.

He was released by the Patriots, I read somewhere if you sign a player who is released, it is not believed to be factored in determining compensation picks.

that is correct... It's only UFAs who were UFAs because their contract expired, not because they were cut.
