Combine Talk: http://fflivewire.com/players/PlayersCombine.asp thats a list of players height and weights, looks legit to me. even though alot of them seem to be 99 years old... but anyway, anything interesting you see or hear about the combine could go in here.
I think London Fletcher is about 5-9, so you never know. Remeber Sam Mills? He wasn't tall either. Hopefully he can follow in their footsteps.
That site looks good, Justin Blalock put up 40 - 225s......... I want to see all the other players 40s when they come out....
Manual Ramirez- 42 Joe Thomas- 28- A very concerning number for a short armed guy supposively considered a top 5 pick
Wow, 28 is a pretty weak number for a potential #2 pick at Left Tackle. I'd love Manuel Ramirez in the late 2nd or 3rd round. He'd certainly open big holes for Leon Washington and Cedric Houston.
It'd be one thing if Thomas had long arms to maintain seperation between himself and the pass rusher(I.e. D brick, who I actually believe benched more than that but isnt known for his strength) but we're talking about a guy w/ short arms who will need that upper chest strength in order to defend the bull rush and swim moves. Does he fall now?
It wouldn't surprise me if he did. If someone like Jamaal Anderson or Gaines Adams have GREAT workouts, it wouldn't surprise me if Detroit went for one of them. However, I don't think he'll fall past Arizona at #5.
referring to Buster Davis being 5'9", Florida State is known for having those ideally short LBs. he just follows suit. He reminds me alot of the FSU LB prospect from last year Ernie Sims, and if he can have as many tackles in his first year as a pro as Ernie did, he can definetly shut up all of the "short LB" critics. although I think some players already did.
Yeah, I agree. Buster Davis's lack of height only sets him up to be a major steal later on in the draft.
the same thing happened to Lofa Tatupu, he was passed on based on his height, the guy was a beast at USC, and now he is the unquestioned leader of a good defense
But the Bench Press is much harder for a guy like D'brick with long arms. shorter arms = smaller range of motion. Plus the bench press is a pretty useless stat. I'd rather see squat numbers especially for O-Linemen
Again.... "Overall seems like a Great draft for OL and DL help at the 1st 3 Jet picks!!!!!" Jets can really take advantage and bolster both lines.
