I think they have been living together. Do they know which QB group they are in prior to the combine?
The Combine should be there for moving people down. As other people move down some should move up. There are some exceptions to the rule, OBJ coming to mind, but basically nobody should get made by the Combine. Blake Bortles is an example of what happens when the Combine is a deciding factor. In retrospect the 2014 class was a very flawed QB class and somebody was going to go first among the QB's. A big QB who chose to throw at the Combine profited in a big way.
I think every QB knew they couldn’t keep up with Allen’s throw power, they probably just hoped he’d airmail a few or throw to the shoelaces a couple times which unfortunately for them he did not. Hopefully Mayfield and Rosen are impressive too.
Just to add to your thought, I think it should be used to tweak a teams score of potential draft picks. The films on these players have already determined more or less what score they are given, the interviews should have more of an impact than the physical agility portion of the combine. Josh Allen is impressive standing there with no one blitzing him or having to read a defense, he's essentially just showing off arm strength, guess what, everyone already knows he has a great arm. What is the combine really showing anyone about Josh Allen?
Mayfield looked better than Rosen, IMO. Here’s how I rank the QBs I thought did well: J Allen Mayfield Lee Rosen Ferguson White Allen Tough to compare group 1 and group 2. The group 2 WR were lost.
This Allen kid is going to be special. If you liked Mahomes then you will love Allen.... Accuracy not an issue at all. He will be gone before 6 for sure.... we would need to move up to get him for sure now
We should consider the hometown RB from Fordham, Chase Edmunds...dominated the Ivies and Patriot League Next to Chubb was the most impressive player for RBs at combine with 4.5 40 and 10.2 jump...fast and shifty ..a poor mans Saquon B
My surprise performer at the combine, Dylan Cantrell had a pretty good day. He had the highest SPARQ rating, z-score, and NFL% of all WRs. Dylan results 6’3” 226 lb 40: 4.59 Vertical: 38.5 (3rd of wrs) Broad Jump: 10'10" (2nd of wrs) Bench: 18 (7th of wrs) 20 yd shuttle: 4.03 (1st of wrs) 3 cone drill: 6.56 (1st of wrs) 60 yd shuttle: 10.85 (1st of wrs) By the SPARQ metric, Cantrell scored a 137.6, and he was rated in the 97.2 percentile among all NFL wide receivers. https://3sigmaathlete.com/rankings/wide-receiver/ I think his 40 time goes up on his pro day also.. He kind of got hosed on his start.. I am not sure how to copy a twitter post to this forum but here goes a try. If it don't work his agent Erik Burkhardt posted it.
The running backs were kind of a disappointment. Totally impressed with Barkley but no one else really stood out. Some of the TEs also were impressive especially Gesicki. I really think this group of QBs is over valued. Allen showed real nice arm but everyone knew he had that. Rosen didn't look that good and didn't look too enthused. Mayfield looked ok but he also gave me the impression that he wanted to be somewhere else. Darnold wasted a trip.
I was wrong here... I thought Lamar was going to steal the show and vault him into the top 10. Instead he got shell shocked by the wr talk and was poor throwing the ball and I think it hurt him not doing the 40 because at least he could of stood on that. He might of dropped to the 2nd round now
