run the ball heavily and use TEs in routes more. herndon and legget will need to step up big. the jets are missing 3 of our top 4 WRs to start the season. that's just brutal especially with a rookie QB. oh and we are without our top RB as well. the offensive skill positions are just ravaged with injuries for us
Really shouldn't reveal the game plan here in case any of the Bears staff is reading the forum, but what the hell. Mheta's sources have confirmed that Bowles will punt on first down and rely on the D scoring on turnovers....
Simple logic dictates such: Premise: Jets cannot draft. They don't know how to draft quality talents. Result: Chris Herndon was drafted by the Jets. Conclusion: Chris Herndon sucks. Makes perfect sense, eh?
The targets though. The Vikings game, 3rd down drops an easy pass from Darnold. Gotta get Leggett more involved.
Expecting Herndon to see plenty of targets Sunday. Then again, I thought the same for Kearse against Minny .
I tend to agree about Leggett, really am trying to figure out why they actually liked him though. Really he's shown nothing other than he seems to get tweaked a lot and is injured to the point where he cant contribute. I agree, Thomlinson drives anyone crazy with drops but beyond Leggett hes on the field, blocks and does occasionally catch the ball. Add to the mix, Darnold is going through his progressions and none of our ace, pro bowl WR get seperation and Thomlinson does he really has to throw him a pass here and there
He was a reliable target at Clemson. Wasnt the fastest or the strongest but still has decent size. Crossing routes, get him running through the middle of the field. Bates needs to gameplan with these TEs, this week he won't have a choice with Robby out probably.
Herndon has looked solid, played well and would also benefit immensely if the Jets are able to land an #1 WR.
we should have kept walford over tomlinson or leggett IMO. he's much more reliable and proven. him and herndon would have been a better 1-2 punch at TE
They liked him because he was very productive for Clemson and usually came up big in big games for them.
Chicago's offense has as many problems as ours. If we take away the running game they will make mistakes. Its going to be an ugly mistake filled game by both Offenses and we actually have the better QB entering this contest.
Despite all of the injuries my hunch tells me the Jets are going to play better than expected but will fall short in the end.....
Herndon is going to be a player.......there is early draft talk of the Jets being interested in that TE from Iowa ( can't remember his name ). I'd consider that a luxury pick at this point - there are still more pressing needs on this roster.
Thanks. Good points. The defense that dominates the most will possibly help drive the win. Hope Sam is on point tomorrow.
