Quick someone check in on Cman, I hear unusual happiness is the first sign of the mind starting to go.
He's been a surprise early. I'm looking forward to his development, but so far you've gotta like what you see. Looks like a good 4th round pick by Mac.
That's ridiculous. That is not why he switched to Herndon. Any football player that's making decisions like that on the field needs to be benched, if not cut.
I understand the premise of your remarks, but why is this always the argument? Why is he "just another role player"? Why cant Herndon be a real talent that is developing to be a very good tight end? It's amazing how people are so easy to dismiss guys with no real data to back up the claim. As I said in the original post, Herndon was a very good tight end in college. He was LOVED down here in Miami and was having a very good year as Miami's second biggest target behind Barrios. My point is, he could be "just another role player" or he could be a very good tight end in the making. I'll let his career play out a little longer before making that decision. It's nice to see a possible tight end again on this roster
He should of been targetted far more heavily yesterday, it was one of the bizarre outcomes of a shitty game, same could be said for Cannon, two good moves and OC who or what was that guy that just made a play, what nah fuck it, let's target Tommo instead.
From what I read all summer he was having a great camp. He had some key drops early in the season (not all his fault). I'm sure toilet and Bates backed off on him because of that despite his strong camp. They don't get that just because a guy has a drop doesn't mean he's a bad player. I'm all for giving him more attempts.
I wondered. Not knowing people, and seeing strange comments/posts here almost on a daily basis, it's hard to tell sometimes.
It is about time they made a little smiley for such an event. Looked online and found it is this one... Not much help on here as we don't have that face either lol
Exactly. This is no surprise to anyone who kept up with preseason workouts. Prior to Sam showing up there was talk about Herndon, and that talk just intensified once Darnold did show up. I can't blame anyone, specifically a Jets fan that wants to have skepticism about a TE, but I think it's pretty clear we have something different in Herndon. Interesting parallel but honestly he reminds me a lot of his old teammate David Njoku, except maybe not quite the leaper Njoku is but that's not really a detractor because there might only be 1 or 2 TEs in the entire NFL that are.
From what I understand, TE is one of the harder position to transition to from college to the NFL. Having to understand both route concepts and blocking schemes as well as how to be technically proficient at both. The fact that this 4th round TE is contributing as a rookie bodes well for him as being a future player. Lets hope he continues to develop and turn into a top 15 TE
Exactly! Without hearing the tone or inflection of someone speaking, seeing their facial expression or body language, it's extremely difficult to tell.
Does anyone here have an idea as to how they will adjust the offensive game plan for Chicago. Limited in our running game, limited with our WRs, limited by Sam's lack of familiarity and experience with the personnel, limited by a center that hikes the ball over his head. Is this a massacre waiting to happen? Or we dump to the TEs and RBs and hope they can catch the ball? Could this be the upset of the year?
