The first thing that strikes me is Herndon's claimed itinerary. If you're going from NYC to Florham Park on Route 80, you'd take the Route 287 exit, about 10 miles before Rockaway Township. That Herndon wound up in Rockaway Township on his way to Florham Park suggests faculties dulled by alcohol. Also, his claim that he was going 58 mph is questionable. Have you ever seen anyone doing 58 mph on Route 80?

I'm no expert, but I recall hearing that once a player gets tagged, he can be tested at any time during the year forever. But players that have never failed a test, only get tested during that window that sec314 wrote about above.

That's incorrect. Shedon was caught using Marijuana.

Sheldon had a 2 year (24 months or 2 full seasons, whichever is shorter, Per CBA) of testing. He cleared that last June or July, I'm not sure which.

The duration of testing is determined by what stage of the leagues treatment protocol a player is in.
    Stage 1 = 90 Days
    Stage 2 = 2 full seasons
Stage 3 = duration of career , but can be released after 2 full seasons at the discretion of the medical director.
There are dozzens of players in stage 1 that are not reported, stage 2 is when a suspension occours. After completing 2 years in stage 2, the player has a clean slate and if he fails a test, it's the same as the first offense.

That is something I think we can all agree on.

And thought he was on Route 08 and just happened to miss the turn for Route 827?

I know, I know. I was, too, but believe me, I've seen defense attorneys raise crazier defenses.

  14. Your right but all of this can be somewhat rationalized by Herndon not being from the area, late at night, drinking involved etc.Can be easy to get all those Highways, parkways etc confused in the tri state.

Sure, and you can bet the defense will argue just that, but when you take it in the context of a 0.14% BAC and his weird account of how the accident occurred, I suspect he may not get too far with that rationalization.

  16. Very true...i dont think hes getting past the alcohol portion. Just have heard defenses on the civil portion of these type of instances many times over including questionable rationale and/or contradictory statements on Police reports. Always fun.

He is a cunt who should not see the field of play, a pissed up driving scrote is not what we need and certainly for somebody that hasn't even had his first pay cheque yet.

The only way I would give him another chance is if he was to renounce alcohol for the rest of his pro days.
