This guy was part of the front office that constructed some of the great Packers teams, as well as turning around a floundering Chiefs franchise following a 2 win season. Very strange that they would get rid of him, but could have been an internal conflict. Can't help but be a bit tempted by getting someone like him in here to assemble the roster. I believe his wife is a high-powered attorney who works for a big firm in KC or St. Louis. She changed firms to accommodate his move from Green Bay to Kansas City. I'm guessing she'll have some say in where he winds up at this point.
I'd love to see him hired as President of Football Ops., cman60, but we both know that's not gonna happen unfortunately. That would be a promotion, I guess, but I imagine that he wants to continue being a GM with his abilities and experience in scouting and personnel. I would love to see it happen, however, and if Mac falters in building the roster, Dorsey could either take over or I'd have confidence in the person he'd hire to replace Mac.
Think Andy Reid had alot of input on personal decisions and may want even more control, like he had in Philly. Makes no sense for the Jets to look at him for a GM. Gotta let Mac finish what he started. He was rumored to be a candidate for the GM position in Green Bay when Thompson retires .

Despite my polite posts from Wednesday (ricko1112) Crusher started the personal attacks and name calling. He started this, not me. All ricko posts were thoughtful and actually praised the Jets. Once I pointed out a blatant lie in another post, Crusher initiated the name calling. If I'm juvenile for retaliating, what do you call Crusher? Don't worry, I don't want you to respond because he might ban you too. Jets are doing the right thing this year and I don't consider this tanking.
Jets tried to get him in 2012 after Tannenbaum got canned. They were turned down by all the GM's and there were a bunch of top guys's free. They settled for Idzik.
The irony is, Idziks approach is the same one Mac is taking now, the difference is, Mac is taking BPA, idziks draft team was in la la land with their player evaluations and drafted based on need for Rex scheme instead of BPA. I would bring this guy in as president of football operations especially since woody is not going to be hands on for a while.
