That's called good coaching. Tailoring the team to what you have, not what you would like them to be. Parcells was the last coach we had that did that, maybe Mangini
I really like Mahomes and he has had an unreal start to his career, but he's got arguably a top 5 player at WR, RB, and TE throwing behind a good offensive line. It almost reminds me of the 2001 Rams offense.
and we will never hear of him again after the new coach and GM release him. lol Todays NFL is a game of offense and we have a defensive minded coach and staff who still only gives big money to defensive players
Possibly the first time in my life I've emphatically agreed with a Pats fan... Sad times for me and for what used to be football.
Can’t decide if we should move this thread to NFL forum or keep it here for reflection on the Jets. From all accounts this game was historic. It shows what today’s NFL has become. Jets are at crossroads. Either keep investing in defense and hire defensive minded coaches or get on with times. He is a Pats fan who also likes Jets.
Every time I see that I feel like I ate a bowl of bad drugs. We're currently having a civil spirited discussion in the NFL Forum. * * * * * Reflection on the Jets, more like a moment of silence.
Good for him! He's a good poster--I have no issues with him at all. I would simply prefer not to agree with him.
It’s true. And the hands on some of these guys-both the Chiefs and the Rams were incredible. We would have dropped a dozen of those passes. The twisting Hill catch on the sideline near the end of the game was amazing.
the guy isnt not a moron he is brilliant. even his pressers are brilliant. he has a photographic memory and uses it. he literally ran through everything that happened on their last drive everything. he does in his brain what analytics guys use computers to do and then print out reports. AND on top of it he knows how to deal with his players. and was smart enough to put good people around him. hes 32 years old.
100% agree. In the past only the Pats got those outrageous defensive calls in their favor + were allowed to run those pick plays without penalty, now everyone is doing it + the teams that actually have some talent in the skilled positions can not be stopped and if they are out come the flags. It’s ridiculous + makes the game almost unwatchable.
this game was telling in that is shows just how watered down the NFL product has become, and how meaningless it now is for offenses to score a ton of points, or for qbs to throw for a ton of yards. It is a total joke when mediocre NFL QBS like Ryan Tannehill can throw for damn near 4,000 yards and over 30 tds in a single season. As if a mediocre, Nick freakin' Foles-led Eagles team winning the Super Bowl last year wasn't enough to show you just how mediocre the sport of professional football has become, last night's video game score-fest should serve as proof enough, but hey the casual fans couldn't care less, bc it is all about those fantasy points!!! Give it a couple of more years, and you will have games that end in 70-69 scores, and the fans will LOVE IT, lol.
The Chiefs did it all right ..first they put a good GM and great HC in place ..then they drafted Mahomes The Brain trust/Management came first : that knew what to do with talented players With the Jets its just the opposite : poor management whiffing on the right players and even with good ones ..no clue how to use them
https://sports.yahoo.com/las-vegas-...efs-loses-seven-figures-anyway-145039374.html Las Vegas sports books took a huge beating on the O/U and likely lost a lot on the spread as well. Las Vegas posts largest over/under ever for Chiefs-Rams, loses seven figures on it anyway Chiefs and Rams score 59 points in second half of highest scoring game in Monday Night Football history The total mostly settled at 63.5 or 64. The teams passed by that with two minutes still remaining in the second quarter. The books could have set the total at 104 and the over would have cashed. And that was not good for their business. The Rams won 54-51, the first time in NFL history both teams scored at least 50 points. The over in Chiefs-Rams cashed easily Monday night was a perfect storm for people betting the over. Usually, casual bettors prefer the over. It’s more enjoyable to root for points than punts. There are typically far more bets placed on prime-time games. That had to be multiplied for Monday night’s Chiefs-Rams game, the most anticipated matchup of the season. And even with a record-setting total, who was going to bet the under with two exciting and explosive offenses squaring off? William Hill spokesperson Michael Grodsky told ESPN that 69 percent of their customers bet the over on what presumably was a high-volume game for the books. And that’s how you lose seven figures on the over. And that’s how you lose seven figures on the over. Vegas probably lost on the point spread too What couldn’t have helped the books either was the outcome. After he game was relocated to Los Angeles due to field conditions in Mexico City, the line moved between the Rams being favored by 3 or 3.5 points. The Rams won by a field goal. So all of the people who took the Rams minus-3 got their money back on a push. Those who took the Chiefs at plus-3.5 won. There weren’t many losing tickets on the side, aside from the few squares who took the Rams when the line sat at 3.5. Nobody is crying for the sportsbooks. They’ll make that money back eventually. They always do. But for one night as the Chiefs and Rams went up and down the field, the customers trampled the house.
I agree Mcvay is a really smart guy. I was saying he wasn’t a moron unlike our head coach Bowles who coaches like a moron with the boneheaded decisions he consistently makes every game.
