What I'd like to know is how the colts have so much cap space, with far fewer free agents and luck on a monster contract. They are doing something right.
Lots of cap space means that there's no one on the team worth paying a lot of money to. Meaning the team sucks. The thing is, you don't waste your cap money on overpriced FAs. You spend your cap money on paying players that you drafted who end up being studs.
He put us in this mess. This is HIS vision. He came out mid season said there was a plan & that significant strides would be made into 19. Finishing second for FAs & simply draftjng an edge bc its loaded at top will not cut it.No more sitting in hands for a rainy day.His partner in crime has been scapegoated..now the pressuress all on him. Are you the idiot you appear to be Mike?
Personally, I will see it as a failure unless Mac trades down and lands some quality players with the extra picks. This team has too many holes to draft at #3.
The time to go all in is now when Darnold is cheap. Doesn't mean spend like a drunken sailor, but sign FA's who can make this team better. Edge, OL, WR, RB, and TE should be considered in FA.
I like Ballard. He isn't afraid to own his mistakes and to learn from them. He admitted he screwed up in the 2017 draft ignoring the o line and promptly corrected it in 2019. Mac should take a page from his book
