Calvin Johnson surprisingly ran the forty at the Combine Sunday, and burned it up with a 4.35. From Rotoworld.
Wow, if there was any doubt about this guy's draft status before, now there shouldn't be. Honestly, if it was anyone but Oakland picking at #1, I would see him going there...
I still would not be surprised to see the Raiders trade Randy Moss and/or Jerry Porter for a QB or possibly grab a guy like Jeff Garcia in free agency and then take Calvin Johnson with the #1. At least that's what the smart move would be, in my opinion.
The trade is a possibility, but why would Jeff Garcia return to mediocrity on a terrible team? Also, I believe that with Kiffin being a QB guy and Al Davis being in love with Russell, he'd be a talented, young QB option that they'd both love. Yea Johnson is the best player value-wise in the NFL Draft, but when you have the oppurtunity to draft the healthy Steve McNair and in need of a QB, I think you have to take it.
There should be no doubt that Johnson is the #1 prospect in this draft, and I am a huge Jamarcus Russell fan. With both Russell and Quinn out there the Raiders would be foolish to hold onto the #1 overall pick--just about any team in the top 10 would give up a King's ransom to get a crack at Calvin.
