Well yeah, Hunt wasn't arrested, but that doesn't matter because there is a video proving it. Like I said, I don't remember what happened in the Marshall situations, but mental illness was a factor and he has gotten help since. I didn't even know about his domestic abuse when the Jets traded for him. I knew he had a history of mental illness, however. It is? What is it doctored footage or CGI manipulation?
I was hoping against hope that the Jets would sign Hunt. The Browns are getting a young superstar for one milly. That's okay though. Mastermind Macc will dump 100 milly on a guy that is about to be past his prime and was smoking blunts and riding jet skis in Miami all 2018 season.
Given the context I don't think it was abuse. Assault on a woman, yes. And he deserves a long suspension. But I don't think he should never be allowed to play in the NFL again.
That seems like wishful thinking. I don't see this move having a Bridgewater type payoff for Cleveland. I just don't think Hunt is that good. He's more trouble than he's worth at this point. JMO
She was right in the middle of the assault. In fact she stepped right in his face and threw pounches. This was far from a 1 sided assault on a women. This was clearly a fight.
He was released because the chiefs and the nfl keep trying to skate by shit and then reacting to it instead of being proactive. The chiefs knew something g happened but didn’t want the details. If they would have investigated it early, they would have found out about the video, could have suspended Kareem for the beginning the season and had him for the lost season and onward. Being proactive instead of reactive would do the league a world of good in the pr dept. But they’re printing money so they really don’t care too much.
This is true, but kicking her while on the ground, instead of just defending himself and walking away was really stupid when he's likely got 10 times her strength (which is 100 times her strength in baseball).
Yeah I think this is markedly different than a domestic abuse case or even battery against a woman. This was a bad dust up with likely equal culpability and unfortunately had it been a man no one would have given this another thought, but because it was a woman that last little punt put it outside anything that could be looked at as defensible behavior. Had he walked away at that point I don’t think the repercussions would have been as severe.
If he were worth the trouble he wouldn't have been cut midseason or settled for a contract that could be worth maybe more than $1 million.
