If you're not kidding, wow, do we have different taste. I found them unlistenable the last 3 or 4 innings, with all of their whining about how late it was (it wasn't even midnight, for God's sake).
I have no problem with local announcers having a rooting interest, within reason. I like Cohen. I can take or leave Hernandez. I just thought that the constant whining about wanting the game to end, being hungry, etc., was a pain in my ears.
why did they keep saying that they ruled the wright hit a single? not that it really matters, but i mean it was a ground rule double, wasn't it?
Since the runner was on second, my understanding is that it should be a double. If the runner was on third, I believe it would have been a single (the only hit that counts even if it isn't necessary is a home run).
Well, if he never touched second, then there's your answer - you don't get credit for the base if you don't touch it! (Just ask Fred Merkle.)
That's your answer, then. If Wright has a clause in his contract about extra base hits, he'll regret that decision!
It just seems silly on balls that are out of play and end the game, the Ventura hit was another absurd example.
Its a single cuz thats all he need to touch in order for the game winning run to score. His run didnt matter.
