When you parade around scolding people on their lifestyles and get exposed like this, there's not much worse than being tagged a hypocrite. Add to that a public perception of him being a serial rapist and Cosby's best move right now would be to either come clean OR leave the country. At this point, he will find no peace anywhere. Being an ex-pat may be his only choice assuming a country would accept him. I have no sympathy for him. Cosby did this to himself. He put himself out there as some paragon of virtue. He had nothing but disdain for others that didn't follow his lead. I think the Cliff Huxtable role went to his head and he thought he was all that in real life. As it turns out he was a fraud and a pervert.
Rape is a horrible crime and anyone who commits rape should be prosecuted and appropriately punished in a court of law. The recent allegations of a" rape culture" on college campuses these statistics being cited of 1 in 5 women being raped on college campuses are inaccurate. The definition of rape some want to impose on college campuses is ridiculously unrealistic ( affirmative consent). Using college judicial systems to adjudicate sexual assault allegations is yielding some horrific results for some men whose lives are being ruined as a result. This is a topic for another thread, but I am more liberal than most and I find this issue very problematic. These college campus allegations are sensationalist and are being used to satisfy the agendas of some. They have more in common with the Duke lacrosse case than actual crimes. Read the history of The Rolling Stone UVA article. Don't get me wrong, a student or anyone else who rapes a woman commits a despicable act. It's the facts of these cases, how rape is defined, and the evidence being used to expel college students that is very very troubling when you peel the onion on this issue.
So the dude who played Martin on the show (the Navy guy) wrote in his blog that there is no doubt that Cosby is guilty and because he idolized Cosby it is a very traumatic thing for him.
When you want to create a problem that doesn't exist, first step is expand the definition of an issue until it fits your agenda.
http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/...untersues-accusers-in-massachusetts/77298438/ he will have to testify in public and under oath...what's he thinking?
It won't, a movie to be that potentially bad can only be made in hell and Bill already has his 1st class ticket.
Bah. It's not you - I know you didn't invent that line. But I've always considered that line such an idiotic feminist throw-away. Such a senseless thing to say.
