Turns out the Browns could have gone Barkley #1 and probably still gone Mayfield at #4. Thank the lord that the Browns are the Browns.
Yeah I have to say I feel like the Browns really went off the reservation and had a bad night. History may not look back kindly on them passing on Chubb at #4, Rosen/Darnold/Allen for QB, heck even Barkley maybe since they still could have had their pick of Rosen/Allen at #4 for sure and probably one of Darnold/Mayfield as well. I'm not even sure passing on Minkah was a good idea. I don't love this result from a Cle perspective.
As a person who lives in Ohio and works with many Browns fans they did not want Mayfield. First, he reminded them too much of Manziel and they just want to forget that draft. Second, people in Ohio are Ohio State fans, and they are all still pissed about him planting the flag in the center of the field after the Ohio State game.
