Assuming Cousins ends up with another team and Darnold and Rosen are gone. All other QB's are still on the board. Two hypothetical scenarios for Mayfield. Let's see what you guys think and why. Jets trade up to 3 or 4 to draft Mayfield. Love or Hate? Jets stay put at 6 and draft Mayfield. Love or Hate?
Cardinals are going to take a QB IMO. There's no one on that roster that has a future. Could be Mayfield or something else like a Josh Allen.
Not moving up for Mayfield at 3. If Cleveland pulls something unexpected, I'm on the phone with the Colts to trade up for Darnold or Rosen. If Mayfield is there at 6, I'd probably take him. If Mayfield is not there at 6, I'm on the phone trying to trade out with someone who wants Allen or Rudolph or I'm taking Barkley or Chubb. If I trade out, I then need to go to my contingency plan and draft someone in round 2 or 3 for QB or pair my 2nd rounders in a package to get back into the first for Rudolph or Jackson. IDK - I'm not too thrilled with anyone outside of the top 3 right now. Once I get to see the combine, I will get a firmer grasp with the players I'd want.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...mock-draft-10-broncos-jags-among-6-to-pick-qb Interesting Mock. First "fresh" idea one I've seen in weeks. Darnold to Cleveland Rosen to Denver Mayfield to Jets Allen to Skins Rudolph to Bills Jackson to Jags
I think that where Kirk ends up will drastically effect who drafts Baker. If the Jets sign Cousins, Baker may go to Denver at 5, if Cousins goes to Denver, Baker gets drafted at 6 by the jets. Just my impression. Cannot wait for free agency so things become a bit clearer
"Still, that’s not the big reason he’s here. Mayfield is here to meet with teams that might actually draft him, and he’s had extensive meetings with four of them; the Saints, Bills, Jets and Dolphins. And they put him through the ringer, teaching him some of their offensive concepts and asking him to recall them an hour later." Guessing that wasn't the Jets.
Hate trading up to 3/4 to draft him, but would like him at 6. No reason for us to trade away picks. Also wouldn't be opposed to trading down for the right price either.
I'm pretty sure that I heard they have no QB's signed on their roster currently. They have to be considered a candidate for a QB I would expect.
If you think a guy can be your FQB you move up if possible and secure him and not let chance screw up your plans. Consider the draft picks and any other compensation the "cost" for Bowles needing to win as many games as possible and not playing Petty/Hack more.
Oh I’m sure Bowles could ask him about running on 3rd and 6 to use up the clock to rest the defense while down 5 points in the 4th quarter... that is our offensive philosophy after all
Listening to Pat Shurmur on NFL Sirius yesterday, I wouldn't be shocked if they target either Nelson or C. Williams. They may end up being the ideal trading partner for the Jets to move up and get Mayfield. I'm doing this trade if there's an opportunity. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
