Between this thread and every post he’s made about Allen, no one is going to convince me this isn’t a Bills fan trolling the shit out of us.

If you spent a minute watching both anybody can see that Mayfield moves to throw where Manziel moves to run. Mayfield's strengths are as a passer, Manziel's was as a runner. Manziel did post gaudy stats like Mayfield, minus the fact that he threw 22 INTs in 863 passing attempts compared to Mayfields 30 in 1497 passing attempts.

It is a genuinely lazy comparison and really only serves to troll at this point. Similarities do not equal same.

    Baaahahahhahahahhahahaaaaa

Buddy I’m a second generation Jets fan

I call it how I see it and for me he is too similar to one of the biggest busts in draft history.

You need to look a lot harder. Let’s leave it at that.

It’s not lazy... The eye test doesn’t lie!

I do agree that Manziel was more of a runner and Mayfield more of a passer. When the play breaks down the proof is in the pudding. Also from a clean pocket the proof is there too.

He's not done just yet. The only reason why he's out of football has zero to do with Mayfield tho. The comparison is terrible.

You can start rooting for the Browns or any other team that grabs Josh FAllen...knock yourself out

Or you could wait it out here and see how the kid we draft ,other than him ,plays in a year or sooner

But be classy about it if your guy doesn't cut it with Jets

That’s what I’ve been trying to do and it actually made me see more of a similarity between the two.

When I made my Fab 5 thread I watched all the INTs and TDs of the top 5 and I liked Baker a lot more than after I went back and watched more. The system and the size at the next level is going to be a huge problem bigger than you think. And that’s not even talking about his off the field issue and on the field immaturity

I agree with you on Allen's potential, but think you are off base regarding this Mayfield analogy.
comparing Mayfield to Manziel is about as weak as comparing Allen to Hack.

He is a way better thrower than Manziel, and maybe even more importantly, not a drug addict.
    Very different player and person.

Absolutely if we grab Baker I’m all in on him and buying his Jersey day 1 as I did Sanchez when I absolutely hated that pick/trade up

Plus the fact that Johnny was hitting the Sauce and screwing up over and over..while the only sauce that Baker had trouble with was from the Chinese food truck (one incident) ahahahah

Mayfield is all business when it comes to football... not partying like an animal

I think they are really similar in stature, passing from the pocket and when a play breaks down.

I believe Mayfield is an inch taller, and 10lbs of solid muscle stouter.

They both improvised well when a play broke down, but as another poster pointed out, Mayfield throws in those situations while Manziel was quick to run.

and again....very different character which just makes them fundamentally different prospects.

Watch Baker in almost any other game. He’ll exhibit close to none of the same bad traits that Manziel did coming out of college. I don’t even know why anyone is entertaining this comparison.

That Georgia defense is no joke. They kept 11 out 13 teams under 19 points, 7 teams to 10 or less. Alabama the best team in the country put up just 23, Oklahoma led by Baker put up 48 points...

To point to one half of football where Baker did still make some great throws including a fantastic td pass is just blind hate.

Go look at how he played under pressure against Ohio State vs how Darnold played under the same kind of pressure. The metrics actually show Baker is the best under pressure in this class, so say as you like, the truth however is different.

As far as Manziel comparisons, they are lazy. Bakers a much better passer with a much stronger arm. Manziel is a wonderful athlete but Lamar Jackson is a closer comparison honestly.

I really just assumed the thread would be closed or merged. :) Maybe I went too far.
