We probably feel the same as every generation before us when they were younger, and how we'll feel about the tide pod eaters and younger.
I'm kind of thinking this "entitlement" thing is a relatively new phenomenon . I get it, we used to walk up hill each way to school but I don't think it was an entitlement thing. I think it was a "we had it tougher than you" thing.
80s and 90s hip hop will live on forever. Also, I think Kendrick will also be an artist that people will still listen to 50 years from now.
is it crazy to say, that different generations had different experiences that were "tougher?" But hey, someone always has to try and best the other person. Thats why you got boomers and millenials pointing fingers
Of course. Something is weird today though--it's got a different feel. And I have a unique experience with sisters raised in the late 60s and brothers raised in the early 70s with very strict parents. This is not a good time for my kids. I weepz for them.
None of us lived through REALLY hard times like the Depression. I don't think kids today would have fared well back then. We've raised them too soft.
IDK when it started, but growing up my parents taught me about being accountable. I too had a unique experience growing up with an older brother and sister, they made some really bad decisions at home, I think it made me a little tougher mentally. Today's society, it's a double-edged sword. I think in terms of having fun and being free, kids have more fun then ever you can argue. The internet allows them to see whatever they want to see, there's more opportunities per say out there. Parents aren't as strict, but its all because of society and how some view disciplining children. However, the bad side is that you are judged for disciplining your kids, I think that's huge. Word gets around. These things trickle down as the years go on, being bullied in schools and how people react to it nowadays. I was subjected to a switch at a young age, but I knew I deserved it deep down. Some kids are straight up spoiled. Probably more then ever. It's a different world. Its a shitty time for sure. Society is overly sensitive, but also somewhat isolated due to technology.
Just a note that the Millennial age range is wide enough that there is a large swathe that were still physically disciplined. I used to wonder if younger people were smart arses because of less discipline, but over time I've become less convinced that that theory holds much water.
I'm one of the younger millennials so I haven't gotten tired of it yet. By the time I'm 40 I imagine I'll be...cantankerous...about it. And drinking fruit juice out of a tiny pouch is annoying as hell so no.
