I WAS relieved. Until I started to get concerned. I mean, why DID the Giants and Broncos pass on the QBs.
Lets build around Darnold. Off the top of your head. Who are your top projected college players, who we could draft next year during the 1st round; in order to build around Darnold? Are they outside #1 WR's? Franchise LT's? Dynamic HB's? Game changing TE's? Who should we be scouting? And also. We'll have the most salary cap space of any team come next off-seasons free agency. After landing our QB hopeful all of this cap space can become a powerful asset. What if Darnold sparks this Franchise with rejuvenated excitement? Which FA's should we potentially be prepared to explore? Any dominant O-Linemen expected to hit? Any dominant L.Bell's out there? True NFL #1 WR's? I'm all ears.
What Bowles did with Hack and Petty is irrelevant. Neither belonged on a football field and other than some fans fantasizing that their team should and would tank the season they weren't playing. For all the talk about others, Mahomes didn't play the entire season. Yes he got in the last day, after the playoff spot was secured. Hardly anything to point to. Never mind they knew Smith would be gone this year and Mahomes was going more than likely going to be handed the keys to the team.
Kizer the guy that started on a 0-16 team? That Kizer? Yeah that is why I don't want McCown anywhere near Darnold. Darnold in college was already better than McCown ever been.
He's also better than his "QB whisperer" Jordan Palmer ever was. Most of the time it's failed QBs teaching these guys how to play well
