If the giants don't fix up that OLINE it doesn't matter if they have the 07 version of Randy moss on one side and the 2k yard version of megaton on the other.
Please explain why you chose the NY Jets forum to place this topic rather than the NFL forum. The separations exist for a (damn good) reason.
I remember Stephen a Smith going on about how Marshall makes them a super bowl contender all of a sudden. I see them having another 1st round playoff exit at best. Giants add Marshall who has drop issues, while the Packers add Bennett. Patriots add Cooks and Gilmore. I have no doubt the Patriots win the AFC, but there are several teams in the NFC better than the Giants, who are basically in win or die mode.
I said this last week. http://forums.theganggreen.com/threads/the-empire-will-be-gone-in-1-year.88260/#post-3558647
I don't care about the Giants in the NFC, but I definitely am worried about anyone competing with the Patriots in the AFC. I can't even think who is the actual 2nd best team right now. Raiders? Steelers? Ravens? Texans? Colts? Bengals? Chiefs? Broncos? All not close to the Patriots. It's terrible.
Pats will be there ... not sure about the giants..? Pats will win afc east without a challenge. Most likely capture 1st or 2nd place in the Afc. This affords them a bye during wildcard weekend, home field advangtage for divisional round and more than likely home field advantage for Afc championship. Men play like mice in foxboro. Pats over 90% to be in super bowl Giants probably over 60% likelihood
Probably something like this 1) Pats 2) Raiders with healthy carr 3) steelers with healthy Bell, Ben and Brown 4) broncos best defense , no offense Pretender 5) Chiefs Maybe Playoff berth, but non contenders 5) Bengals 6) Colts 7) Ravens Lol 8) Texans (although I could see them 'winning' their shit division again.... wish the Jets were in this division... it's a joke.) BB could "honestly" win the AFC east for as long as they keep this division together or for as long as he coaches. He owns Miami, NY and Buffalo. I bet he has cameras hidden in foxboro and the signs/signals of all the dumb ass teams that don't change them regularly. Brady is more than likely mic'd up as well. All the refs collect envelopes at the entrance and exit. They are good, but there has to be more going on in foxboro. Afc east is broke division. Divisions are broke in general. It's too damn easy at this point. Get rid of divisions or relegate divisions top tier , bottom tier ... much more parity.
Agreed on most of that. As for the Texans and Broncos, how far do you think they would jump up with a healthy Romo? I think it could jump the Texans up quite a bit. Key word is "healthy" though. Having said that, at this moment, the only true team I could see beating the Patriots is the Derek Carr-led Raiders.
I don't think Romo has the mobility to survive a full season in the NFL. He has had a lot of injuries and he is now entering the twilight of his career. He still hasn't proven he can win when it counts. If romo had played for the Texans this past post season against the pats, the Texans may have won that game. The Texans played 1 heck of a game but osweiler was ineffective disaster. Of the two I think Romo would make a bigger impact on the Broncos. That defense will keep Denver in most games. But I don't think Tony can make it through a 16 week regular season. It is hard to say though between broncos and Texans. In one hand you have a storied team with one of the best defenses in the league; however playing in one of the toughest divisions.... In the other you have a team the NFL is certainly trying to grow a base in Houston and playing in one of the weakest divisions. I'm not ready to buy on Romo making some historic comeback. I think it will be a short lived return.
