Thread title says it all. Now that we don't have any 2nd rounders post-Colts trade, are there RB's that can potentially fall into the 3rd and beyond?
Depending on how things shake, I've had Chubb, Penny & Kerryon Johnson slip to round 3. Deep RB draft though! I like Josh Adams between the tackles, and also Justin Jackson. I think some of these guys will be around, but I also think they snatched up Crowell just in case they miss out.
I love big backs to wear down a defense. Would be a good match with Crowell and Powell. Although I'm a little concerned as to why his production fell from 2016 to 2017.
Mainly due to being in an Alabama team loaded with RB's - Damien Harris, who decided to stay at Bama for his final year, will be a star this year and will probably go in the 1st round in next year's NFL Draft.
Unless there's a stud that slips through the cracks, I'd think an O-line upgrade would be a better asset to target.
Do we bother with a RB in the third? Its way down the list of places we need talent right now with the FA signings. Crowell is still fairly young, we have powell, and McGuire. I would hope we start addressing some Oline depth in the mid rounds of this draft, We really need it.
The Jets have at least some interest in NC State's Nyheim Hines. RB Coach took in his Pro Day and took him to dinner following. Hines runs a 4.38 40 and this past season was his best. He ran for 1,112 yards on 197 carries (a 5.645 ypc avg.), 12 TDs and caught 26 passes for 152 yards. He also can return punts and kickoffs. As a PR, he returned 11 for 135 yards and one TD, and as a KOR he returned 21 for 469 yards.
