Girardi announces Garcia will start Gm 3 and Burnett will pitch out of the bullpen.

You doubt the Yankees beat the Tigers? Really?

The only team that worries me a bit is Texas. They have an awful lot of firepower. I'm just hoping Tampa exhausts them. I don't see how we don't beat Detroit.

Detroit's offense is just as good, I think. It's masked by playing half of their games in a pitcher's park while Texas plays in a bandbox, but the Yanks, Rangers, Tigers, and Sox ( ) have the best offenses in baseball. The Rangers' pitching isn't that great.

Facing Verlander twice in a series is scary, though.

I'm not dismissing either Detroit's pitching or its hitting, but I still think Texas is the one team that can match up in a series with the Yankees.

Verlander is the only chance they have. if he can negate Sabathia's starts Detroit can probably get 1 other win in the other three games. but he has to win both games. otherwise Detroit probably doesn't have a chance.

Fista is pretty good. He might win his start. Also, da Tigas could slug dare way to a win or two in da games Verlanda doesn't pitch.

Either Montero is hurt or Joe Girardi is an idiot.

Then that certainly doesn't bode well for the Tigers.

I think Montero is better, but Posada's numbers against righties are close to his career norms. His shitty year was almost exclusively because he can't his lefties to save his life.

hope its an extended delay. that'd fuck with everyone and have lasting implications throughout the whole playoffs.
