Everybody has pretty much seen the design for what would've been the WSS. I don't believe they actually ever settled on that if they ever did build it...I actually stumbled upon a more ambitious, beautiful stadium design that really makes me wish this thing got built. Look at how the wing from our old 1978-1997 unis in incorporated. It even has the twin towers in the background so this must've been designed pre 9/11

It would have been beautiful and a great thing. Damn Sheldon Silver and that asshole that owned Madison Sq. Garden and I think Cablevision at the time.

Which is the thing at the far right in the second and far left in the third which is actually a mast holding the cables that support some roof structures. Maybe I'm not thinking creatively enough but I don't see the resemblance to the old logo. That stadium would have been nice if only it was surrounded by parking lots.

Lt. Gordon says MetLife is the stadium the Jets deserve but not the one they need right now.

PSL price: $20,000 minimum per seat.
(You didn't expect Woody to pay for any part of it, did you?)

I was all over the Stadium Project from day 1 with threads etc...
When Silver did what he did, I lost all hope for NYC having the JETS.

I live 12-15 mins from JETSlife and 15mins. from YANKEES.
and while I am in the perfect spot for my teams...
I really wanted that WSS Stadium..

I have a Pic w/Me and Klecko at one of the WSS Model tours.
I'll post if I can find....but soooo fukin disappointed ..

I hope he's getting skull fuked as I type this..

I got douche chills when I first heard about the WSS.

That's where my family lived when they got to America.

It felt right...at least to me.

Who cares, PSLs would have been at least 5 times as much and the team would still suck and you would still be buying your genaral admission PSL tickets for probably $500 each instead of what they are now.

I'm the guy who thought that thing on those ugly helmets looked like a shark fin and I think that stadium has a nautical look to it with the mast and lines, especially right on the riverside. Perhaps you can tell us what part of that stadium looks like what part of what kind of jet?

Eh, it was a pipe dream from the beginning. It was initially proposed as being publicly funded. Shortly after that, the PSL talk began, oh, ya know, to the tune of around 5K-10K per (see how I laugh). People who live in that neighborhood were mad and didn't want that Stadium AT ALL - well, roughly 60% of them. We all know why it fell through (cronyism and corruption), but why the Jets wound up in The New Dump in NJ ten feet from The Old Dump in NJ is probably the crappiest Business Model 101 that I've ever witnessed. The point I'm trying to make is that none of the humps involved had any clue what they were doing, and Woody is a rube.

Trust me, I know the WSS collapse inside and out. I am TEMPORARILY canceling the ending. More tomorrow.

Had Woody been a bit more flexible on location, we MIGHT have gotten this thing built. There were other alternatives to the Rail Yard location but Woody the Brat had to have the West Side. In the end, we wound up with a giant grey air conditioner and no hope for another generation for a true Jet home stadium. Fckn sad state of affairs...

^^ Now that's a stadium.I walk by the site often as I do a lot of business in the area and think about what could've been.

Now it's nothing but more skyscrapers and starbucks.
