After Darnold and Rosen, any other QB's worth to trade up to 3 for?

As i said in my original reply to your post, if your idea of "starting right away" includes sitting for a few games/half a season, then I get it, but if you mean sit him for a year or two, it's a waste of capital to trade up for a guy like this. IOW, if you believe this guy is a potential FQB, then surely he MUST be able to start his first season, unless you have a Brett Favre in front of him. Did the Packers trade up for Rogers?

I'll play the QB when I deem the QB is ready to play. I'm not sitting a QB for 2 years, that's for sure.

Okay, let me ask you this: Is there a QB available that you think Bowles will play Year 1 at some point rather than playing a vet "Because he gives us the best chance to win"?

What do you base this on? From his track record Bowles has not played a young QB. I know you say that Petty and Hack weren't good enough, and maybe you're right, but we still have no evidence that Bowles will play a rookie who DOES have the ability. It's wishful thinking at best.

What I'm getting at is that even a highly talented rookie, a guy who has FQB written all over him, is going to be hard pressed to out perform a vet right off the bat, but in the long run - if he really is a FQB - he'll be way better than that vet. I foresee Bowles playing the vet for the short term goal of winning now, instead of letting the rookie get experience and get on the road to success.

No offense dude, I am sick of talking about Bowles right now. I knew this was going to go in this direction. I want to talk QBs and planning ahead to make this team better.

Fair enough, but you can't really separate the two. Enjoy.

All the planning in the world on this board isn't really worth a damn

He has proven he’ll play young defensive backs in Adams and Maye, young defensive line in Williams, young linebackers in Lee and Jenkins, young offensive line in Shell and young receivers in Anderson, even a young running back in McGuire. So has he not played the young quarterbacks because of unwillingness to play young players or because our young quarterbacks have been shit?

Your point is valid, but I'll remain skeptical until he shows me otherwise.

This years QB class is excellent

The wheat will start tearing away from the chafe and we will see who is standing

Darnold now is a step down...plus he won't even declare

It's Rosen Allen or Mayfield imo....try to get THE BEST

    Please Mac make it happen!

The push will be stronger if Cousins turns us down ....which he might do for so many reasons

Williams. Adams. Maye. Lee. Anderson. McGuire...guys that deserve to play.

Petty and Hack clearly sucked and did not deserve to play.

I think if they take a guy with their first. He’s going to play. (Hope)

I think McCown will be back as an assistant coach or something maybe they sign a Hoyer or McCown type as the backup.

I’m skeptical of Bowles and Mac both. I’m not sure if he’s playing youngsters because they are good or because Mac left him no choice with our complete lack of talent.

I wouldn't trade up for Rosen: too many question marks for that much of an investment. I'd take him if he was sitting at our pick though.

I think Mayfield will be #2 by the end of the evaluation process.

Are you really a "project" though if you are able to put up close to 300 YDS and lead a game winning drive against one of the best defenses in the league in your first start? If Petty and Hack are projects; Mahomes can't be described using that word as he is already light years ahead of those guys.

Mahomes isn't a project. That said, the red shirt year likely was very beneficial for him.
