Tanner Purdum was the longest tenured Jet and last one left from the 2010-11 AFC Championship Game. Never had a bad snap or penalty. Goodbye.
Why was he cut? Did he mess up some snaps in the preseason? Sorry for my ignorance, haven't paid too much attention to the snaps on specials during preseason. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
Supposedly, he struggled in TC. Our ace Jets beat writers didn't mention anything about it until the end of TC about the time the Jets traded for Hennessey.
It was a money thing as far as I know. We saved $440,000 that could be crucial to the long term success and prosperity of this franchise.
I think it has more to do with a perfect long snapper being a bad idea on a team that's trying to lose.
Touché. I guess the more bad snaps the better. So we're committed to getting young down to the damn long snapper, yet we stay committed to our damn 38 year old quarterback. I guess Bowles and Maccagnan are the only two asshats in the Tri-State area that don't realize how ass backwards this whole situation is. If we were looking for a penny pincher in terms of the cap we should've just brought back Idzik. Idzik was awful, but Maccagnan hasn't really shown much of an improvement. Idzik handled free agency, contracts and acquisitions better than Maccagnan did. He was just god awful at college talent evaluation.
There was a young fellow named Tanner Who threw footballs like mechanics use spanners Earned a small salary but On the training field cut By a coach deserving a "Bowles out" banner.
there once was an explorer named dave who found a dead whore in a cave she was missing a tit and her face looked like shit but just think of the money he saved!
There once was a defensive back Who thought he could pick off the Hack Jumped when Hackenberg stared But the ball wasn't there Such accuracy Hackenberg lacked.
Good effort, but the rhythm would flow better if your third line was "He jumped when Hack stared" and your last line was " 'Cause the accuracy that Hackenberg lacked."
There once was a GM named Mac, Who dreamed of a QB named Hack, But Hack was so bad That it made the fans mad That all Hack could do was get sacked.
The sentiment is right, but not the number of syllables/rhythm. Also, I was also referring to Hack's taking sacks, not getting "fired" or cut.
