Make your selections for the other rounds too drew,I was thinkng about Lechler for my punter cause he's got perhaps the strongest leg in the league. But he does out kick the coverage at times.
Can we just finish picking our teams now at any time or do we have to wait until we are on the clock.
The last I've heard they're still questioning whether he'll ever play again, but things may have changed.
This draft flopped for one reason and one reason only: too many teams. Maybe later this offseason (or even now if you guys want) we can do another ATD (I had a ton of fun in that one, and all the other drafts on here were a little boring), but there's no way in hell I will EVER do another one of these unless it's between 10-12 teams. 20 is way too much, people wait too long for their picks, stop checking, and before you know it everyone misses them. Edit: Actually, another reason why this probably flopped is due to lack of resources. We all know the top tier of players today and how good they are, but once we get to like the 29th or 30th OT taken, most of us have no clue who would be better then who because lack of seeing them playing. At least with the ATD we can compare career stats and numerous biographies on the greatest players of all-time, but there are absolutely no updated resources or experts list that one could refer to (at least out of what I found). Well I enjoyed this for a while, do you guys still want me to work polls or just put it to rest? If we do polls I'll do 4 groups of 5, take the top 2 of each, then play 2 groups of 4 and take 2, then 1 group of 4 and take 2, and then the finals.
Alright I'll start them next Monday, pending that everyone has their team completed. I'll spend 3 days per poll, so it'll take about 2 weeks.
Yea, one of the main reasons why it flopped was the amount of teams. But I also think the amount of rounds was another reason. The first 15 or so rounds went pretty good, but after that, people started losing intrest. I think a draft like this would be good to do with like baseball or basketball where there aren't as many crucial positions, but football is tough because of the depth. With that said it was still a ton of fun!
Well for what it's worth I had a lot of fun with it and I thought it was a good idea. Maybe having 20 teams was what caused it to fail, but I also thought that was also part of the fun - if there were fewer teams it would have been a lot easier to build stacked teams. I think some tweaking of the rules could have helped - some of which we ended up doing along the way. - Shorter clock - Instant skip for player who already missed a pick - "backup" drafter(s) who would make picks for players who missed 2 rounds already. Of course these rules are a lot easier to follow for someone who works on a computer all day, but if you know what you're getting into ahead of time you shouldn't have issues. If you don't want to set this up next off-season, I think I'll give it a try. If nothing else it's helped pass the time until the draft.
The only thing no one really did either was give someone a draft list if they thought they weren't going to be around
