Another offseason comes around, and instead of trying an all-time draft that was a failure last year, maybe we can try something new.

Draft players that are currently playing (as of 2006, at least). We could compile 24 players or a full roster, and then we can decide which team is the best for 2007 and which team is the best for the future. Before I post rules or anything, I'm just going to put this thread out there and see how much interest I'd have, so post in here that you'd be interested.

OFFICIAL RULES IN POST 67 OF THIS THREAD. PICKS ARE IN THE PICKS THREAD, AND ROSTERS ARE IN THE ROSTERS THREAD. THIS THREAD IS FOR DISCUSSION ONLY.

I would like that....Sounds like a good idea, but we need to come up with an idea to make it go quicker in between picks.....

Another completely diffrent idea I have for the offseason is each person volunteers to choose a different team or teams around the NFL once the SB is over, and FA starts, in order to come up with an in depth team report and their needs for the draft/FA. What young players are ready for a new role in 2007 around the league? By visiting different teams Message boards it shouldn't be too hard. If we can get some people to do it and put all of their info in one thread or document, it would be really easy to view. I can't be the only one that would like to have this information handy.

Go for it. This idea should actually work. You could actually sim the tournament via the Madden video game. (I wouldn't participate, but I would read the thread and offer an opinion once in a while.)

RE: what Murrell2878 wrote- Yeah, the draft was good. The problem was the tournament after the draft.

I meant a failure because we never got received a defined winner. I enjoyed it a lot, but a few others were a little disappointed.

I'd be in. Maybe we could get a tournament sponsored by the BS forum after their BS Tourny. Since that forum gets a lot of hits.

I tried this before though and it fell apart.

Well this is something easier to do because everyone knows the current day NFL, so we'll start it. I'll put up a few rules a little later, and any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Sounds interesting, and it would appear to all age groups as opposed to the last one where only the people who knew about the history of the NFL

I did something very similar last year and it was a lot of fun.In our draft you took one of the 32 nfl teams and were allowed to keep one player.I built a pretty solid young team which included Vilma,Tommie Harris,Andre Johnson,Brian Westbrook,Kerry Rhodes and Kirk Morrison.

    Count me in.

Wow kind of forgot about this, well here's who's in, and maybe we can get it close to 20. A full 32 would be perfect, but there's no way everyone would be dedicated and it'd take way too long.
