I just saw this in the Adrian Peterson thread. I had no idea he was arrested again. Unreal. Same fists, different girlfriend.
Wait, I just realized something. He's still on probation for possession of an illegal firearm (which he could've done a lot of time for). How is this arrest not a violation? Don't people go straight to jail for this? I'm not a lawyer, so someone who is, please chime in.
I think he was arrested by Tampa bay PD so he may not get violated until he meets with his probation officer in San Francisco.
And i don’t think they will arrest him, they'll set a court date for the violation and ,if he was on a pre trial intervention to plead to the original charge of gun possession. I don’t see how he plays anytime soon if ever again. Even if he is innocent of the dv charge the probation violation will be a problem for him.
I think the league will reexamine the first Domestic Violence charge also. Same victim who recanted her complaint the first time. Seems more likely she was telling the truth the first time but believed " he would change" or she didn't want to give up the big $ lifestyle. He's been given slaps on the wrist for serious crimes too often. I wrote about him pre draft, hoping he would turn his life around. Rough life, Father shot and his mother while she was holding him as a 18 month old child, wounding him in the back. But he hasn't changed, sadly.
I think he plead no contest on the gun charge which was reduced to a misdemeanor. I remember he got a very light sentence. Community service hours or something like that
Oh, I just went with your post saying it was a different woman. I read something after your post saying he slapped a woman around in his hotel the night before the game, but it sounded like a one night stand or something.
Yeah, he pled down. Not even sure how that even got reduced. The DV charge by crazy ex-gf was dismissed partly because she recanted, but he was still facing at least 11 years (if I recall without reading back) on the gun charge. He got two years probation for illegal possession. If this the same ex-gf that he tried to get evicted, I don't understand how two toxic people just don't stay away from one another and create more toxicity. I can't believe this looks good for him, but I still thought if you violated probation off to the slammer you went. Then again, I guess that is for felonies and his got reduced. What I do I know from things. I don't get arrested for hitting people.
