I thought we weren't allowed to play the Raiders at home. It feels like we always play them away. Makes a nice change.

That's a pretty generous assessment. If those games were being played today the Jets would be distinct underdogs in 7 of them (the 6 playoff teams and the Browns) and distinct favorites in 1 (the Raiders). That translates to a 6-10 record at best.

We need to keep reminding ourselves just how bad the Jets were this year, and the fact that other teams will be trying to get better too.

6 of their losses this year were by one possession. I don't think its much of a stretch to say they'd be competitive games especially with $100mm to spend and high draft picks. I'm not saying it will translate into wins but at least they'll be watchable games.

That's a 50% increase. Do that two years and the Jets could be in the playoffs.

As a Maryland fan, I'm happy to have my pick of two games next year. Hopefully they are good weekends for games.

The Jets lost 6 games by 14 or more points - only the Raiders and Cardinals were that bad in the entire NFL. That is wonderful evidence of just how bad the team was - saying they were the third-worst team in the league is very accurate. The biggest thing the Jets have going for them is that they play 5 games against teams that were in the bottom 5 of the league in point differential. Unfortunately, those teams (the Dolphins, Bills, and Raiders) are saying the exact same thing about the Jets.

Like I said, Jets fans need to keep reminding themselves just how bad the Jets were this year, and that other teams will be trying to get better too (and teams like the Bills, Browns, and Raiders also have plenty of cap space). I think 8 or 9 wins next year (the 4-5 more wins you said could very well happen) is a more than generous assessment, if not highly unlikely. I wouldn't have predicted that at the beginning of this season, but I was shocked by just how bad the Jets turned out to be.

Depending on the dates of the away games I can see myself in Baltimore, Washington and potentially Cincinnati and London, hopefully.

As a VA fan I would suggest Skins over Ravens. Been to multiple Jets games at both and the skins fans are much nicer. Baltimore fans are pretty much A holes like Philly fans.

I would also point out that the Redskins fans have basically turned on the FO and upper management. Might be an empty stadium from the home fans..

My nephew has season tickets at Lincoln Field, so there's a chance he could invite me to go to the game there. I generally don't like going to road games anyway, but is your experience that the issues of being hassled would be even worse than typical there?

Yes absolutely. Had a Philly fan pull a knife on me one time. They aren't all bad but compared to games I have been to in Lambeau, Washington.. Philly and Baltimore aren't opposing fan friendly. Philly was the first stadium to have its own jail.

I get it, You’re a glass 3/4 empty person. They were competitive in 10 of 16 games on a poorly coached team with no attention paid to OL. Put in a better coach, staff, $100mm of FA signings and 3rd pick in draft rounds and you have a team that should be more competitive than in 10 out of 16 games. Parcells made them go from 1 win to 9, it’s not inconceivable they could win 4 more games next year with the right signings. I clearly said it’s way too early to tell as we have no idea who they will sign or draft but this year was the bottom, and they still were within 1 poession or won 10 of 16. That is a team ready for new blood and new players ready to make a move. If you’re that down on the team there is always the Giants to root for.

I've been a Jets fan for more than 50 years, so take your bullshit about the Giants and shove it where the sun don't shine. Just because I'm not delusional doesn't make me any less of a fan.

Ugh the Steelers at home. The last time we played them at home their had to be 30,000 of them. I bet they bring the most road fans to MetLife next season with the exception of the Giants.
