    how it looks

Griffey is in. He'll probably get over 98% (100% of public ballots)
Piazza is very likely in (87% of public ballots)

Bagwell is most likely out. (77.5% of public ballots)

everyone else has no chance this year.

edit: correction, Raines also has a chance

Sweetest swing of all time IMO, Griff that is.

Would've loved to see what type of numbers he would've ended his career with if injuries didnt strike once he left Seattle. I truly believe he had a legit chance to surpass 755.

And with so many question marks surrounding guys like Bonds and A-Rod , Griffey might be the best pure player in the last who knows how many decades.

To me he always gets underrated when talking about the bests of all time.

Piazza getting in would be nice to see , but something about not getting in on your first try waters it down a little to me.

Of course Griffey could've got 755. He most likely would've had he stayed healthy.

Raines is in a similar position to Bagwell. Possible, but unlikely.

    Missed him.

99.3% of the vote for Griffey. He had the most realistic chance of being unanimous of anyone, guess it'll never happen. There'll always be 2 or 3 contrarian douche bags who feel the need to do their "civic duty" by preventing a unanimous vote. Seriously, what's the point? I guess we can all sleep at night knowing that the threat of a unanimous hall of fame vote has been squandered by those brave heroes upholding a nonsensical unwritten code. Pussies.

I think they give preference to your first choice, as long as it's reasonable. Blame Wade Boggs.

Right, I remember some change happened with that.

But Piazza as a Met will be nice to see

It's completely up to the Hall as to which hat Piazza will wear.

"Most indelible mark" is an interesting question with Piazza. He was the best hitting catcher in baseball history with the Dodgers (slash line .331/.394/.572), not the Mets (.296/.373/.542) - is that the indelible mark? He set the record for career home runs as a catcher with the Mets, not the Dodgers - is that the indelible mark? He played in two losing postseason series with the Dodgers (where they were swept in three games both times), with an OPS of .686 (.250/.269/.417), and played in five postseason series with the Mets (winning three), with an OPS of .830 (.256/.330/.500) - is that the indelible mark? He played in a third more games with the Mets - is that the indelible mark?

Given how close it is, I do hope they go with what he prefers, which he clearly stated was to go in as a Met (in fact, he said in his autobiography that he would rather have no logo on his hat than have the LA), making him the second player to do so.

Kind of hope Griffey goes in an M. I hate Seattle but he's a hero to the local fan base. Piazza deserved it too. But I've no idea if he was on the juice.

The indelible marks are that the Mets were in the latter part of his career, the more recent part. The World Series. The Yankee games and Clemens, the 9/11 game, and the records. Mets it is!

I think Piazza was more a Met than he was a Dodger

Griffey to me is clearly a Mariner

I agree on both counts. As far as I know Griffey hasn't ever said which he prefers. I do like the suggestion that it be backwards, thereby avoiding the question entirely (well, not seriously, but still).

Piazza said he will announce it today...It will be as a Met.

The Griffey thing is strange, who the hell are the 3 people who didnt vote for Griffey?

Next year, Raines, Bagwell, possibly Hoffman and Vlad have a shot

Flat out, assholes. People who shouldn't have a vote really.

The process is so flawed. Tons of people have votes that dont deserve it. And agendas that follow that. There are people who flat out wont vote for any player who played during the steroid era too. Which is completely wrong.

I dont think any player will ever receive 100 percent no matter what. I think Jeter has a shot, but some hard ass will screw him over too.
